Room big enough to open luggage, but sparsely furnished. Electrical sockets could be better placed. No lift. Bed is comfortable. Hot water available.

The place is pretty nice for the price. It's a semi-basement dormitory so the view from my bed was the parking lot. However, overall it's a great place for its price. There's a kitchen and a shared living room that we can eat together and work there. The location is so close to the Hongik University Station so it was pretty easy to hop on the subway and get around. It's not too far from Hongdae so it's still pretty bustling but it's not Hongdae so it's pretty peaceful in the early morning and midnight. Would highly recommend it for solo travelers.

A very well located guesthouse in Hongdae, near the the exit 3 Hongik Station, but peaceful area to sleep at night. I slept on the female dorm, the staff is helpful enough to accommodate me move from upper bed to lower bed. Breakfast is decent to start your day.

My experience at Take 1 GuestHouse Hongdae was disappointing.
Right from the entrance, the hostel appeared worn-down and unclean. Inside, the space was cramped, uncomfortable, and untidy. I noticed men walking around, even though I was told that the hostel only houses women, which raises concerns about transparency.
I requested a room on an upper floor for a quieter stay, but I was given a room on the first floor. While access to the hallway with rooms is secured by a code, the rooms themselves are not locked. Storage for personal belongings is a small locker barely fitting a backpack. The room was cluttered with dozens of suitcases. The wall in front of my bed was covered in black mold. The kitchen and common areas were also unpleasant — dirty, cluttered, with sticky old tables and loud phone conversations. It was previously mentioned that guests could complain at the reception about the noise, but no one was there, and the lights were off. The bathroom was small and unhygienic, and I cannot vouch for the cleanliness of the bedding or shared items. Staying in this guesthouse felt more like enduring the conditions rather than being able to relax. So I chose to leave and find better accommodation.
