About this house rental
A beautiful, well-restored old country house-styled home in the Northern part of Helsinki. Peaceful and nice surroundings, with only 15 min from the airport. A large open veranda with grill, and a garden. Upright piano, fully-equipped kitchen, sauna.

Family-friendly are with a next-door park with animals in the summer time. Playground, football pitch, etc. Super calm, but close to services.
You could park your car in the yard. There's a but stop just around the corner, several buses stop there, that you can take either to the city center or the other way (Vantaa-Tikkurila) and also to the airport. Taxi from the airport costs only around 20-23 € and takes usually less than 15 minutes.

We chose this property because we were traveling with 2 families and needed plenty of space and beds. This home accommodated our needs. The kitchen was large and well equipped. Everyone had their own beds. Very close to bus stops and a short walk to groceries and pizza restaurants. Communication with property owner/manager was excellent. The back patio was lovely and had seating for all of us. The backyard was private. Also, very close to walking trails.I would suggest a set of instructions to be left for renters. I was unsure about garbage/recycling and checkout requirements; however, owner was very quick to reply to messages. Also, there was no door knob or locking mechanism on the main floor shower/sauna room, which is right off the kitchen. Lastly, the blinds in some rooms were not working properly, mainly the shower/sauna room that faces the street.We had a great stay in Helsinki and very much appreciated the ability to utilize the buses from this location!

Pekka was a very good host! He was there when I arrived getting ready for our stay since we were early! Everyone loved the uniqueness of the house and I especially loved the tub! I have never seen a tub so LARGE!
Once we figured the bus routes, we were able to navigate down to city center! We really enjoyed Helsinki! If we ever come back, we will definitely stay here again!

The house was well equipped in a quiet area. The wifi was good and the TV was a good size and had a sharp picture.No owner subscriptions to other streaming such as Netflix.
The furniture was shabby in places and we could not find extra towels or linen if needed.
The mattresses were poor, too soft especially upstairs.There were some broken door handles, a record player that jumped and a steep uneven spiral stair case that could have caused an injury.
The bath had to be filled by a shower which was not over the bath directly and emtied directly into the shower drain.
Downstairs the shower was in a general utility room with no lock on the door.
The freezer for drinking water or ice did not work.There was only one set of keys ,more would have been better .
There was no manuel to assist with practical house keeping such as kitchen equipment,rubbish collections or local information such as supermarkets or transport links.
This though was given
after asking the owner via email before we left but written instructions in English would have been better in the house as well
There was no recommendations regarding sights to visits restaurants or cafes
