About this villa rental

Villa Tenuta Lonciano is a beautiful stone farmhouse dating back to the thirteenth century, formerly used as a convent, located in a very quiet and panoramic position on the slopes of Mount Morello from which you can enjoy a splendid view over the valley of Florence (about 10 km away).
The property is fully fenced and is surrounded by 82,000 m2 of land with fruit trees, aromatic plants, pastures and woods of oak, fir, cypress and olive trees. Inside the property there is a beautiful garden (1000 m2) on several levels and a swimming pool reserved for the exclusive use of guests. The house is well furnished and very comfortable.
About 10 meters away there is a completely separate villa (Villa Ancora, which is also in our catalogue) that shares only the entrance way with Villa Tenuta Lonciano.
The nearby natural park of Monte Morello offers the possibility of pleasant walks in contact with nature.
At guests' disposal: large equipped outdoor areas, swimming pool reserved for the exclusive use of guests (12 x 5 m - minimum and maximum depth 1,4 m), outdoor Jacuzzi for 6 people, outdoor sauna, barbecue. The house has WI-FI internet connection (free of charge). Parking on the property for 6 cars.

Distances: food stores 3 km away, Sesto Fiorentino with all kinds of shops 6 km, Florence (airport and railway station) 10 km away, San Gimignano 75 km, Siena 90 km, Pisa (airport), Lucca and Arezzo approx. 100 km away.

The house is on three floors and being built on the slope of a hill has direct access to the garden level from each floor. The three floors of the main house are not connected internally.
Ground floor: panoramic double bedroom (air conditioning) with private bathroom with shower, access to a private terrace.
1st floor: connecting room with single bed (extra, on request), bathroom with shower, double bedroom (air conditioning) with ensuite bathroom with shower, double bedroom (air conditioning) with panoramic view, ensuite bathroom with shower, small living room.

Words cannot capture how incredibly gorgeous this villa is, and frankly, neither can the pictures. I've stayed in places that looked much nicer in their pictures; this place looks much nicer THAN the pictures. Antonella and Monica were very kind and responsive from start to finish and our group had a luxurious, much-needed retreat. Now we're just trying to figure out how and when we can ever go back!

The Villa Tenuta Lonciano is fantastic. Our 3 families totaling 10 people, including 4 children between 6 and 15, spent a marvelous week at the Villa. The accommodations were charming, updated and allowed us ample room for each family. The Villa, which is historic, could easily accommodate a larger group. We used the large infinity pool, lovely sauna and hot tub nearly everyday. The view is incredible and the location up in the hills outside Florence provided a welcome respite from the heat. Most wonderful of all were our hosts—Antonella and her sister Monica. They were fun, engaging and helpful in every way. The Tenuta Lonciano is a true gem!

As others have mentioned, the house is rather lovelier than the photos suggest, full of thoughtfully chosen pieces and charm. Antonella, the owner is warm, friendly and clearly very hard-working: the whole place is put together with love. We definitely recommend having Beatrice and Stefania cook for you: their food and service were excellent. Staying in also means you get to enjoy the varied sunsets from the canopied dining terrace before dinner and the twinkling lights of Sesto Fiorentino once it is dark. Plenty of china, cutlery, glasses etc and kitchens and bathrooms all equipped with appropriate soaps, gels, dishwasher tablets, coffee and so on. Beds were firm which was good for half of us but not so much for the other half! Loved picking ripe green figs fresh from the tree. Only downsides are that you are a little remote (hence the views though) and the very inviting and beautifully situated pool does not have a cover so was a bit too chilly for this sybarite! Hint: if you’re leaving the villa for, say Montecatini or Prato turn left at the top of the drive, ignoring Google Maps - the route will readjust and save you 10-30 minutes compared with the original suggested journey time. Recommended!

The pictures don’t do this place justice - It’s the perfect Tuscan experience. We loved the layout of the villas and the pool and outside sitting area with the views are magnificent. I would stay again

We loved it! Super charming with lots of communal areas inside and outside - it was all around pretty idyllic. The kitchen was updated and very well stocked (more plates than a Crate and Barrel). The rooms were private, well maintained and had comfy beds. Our host was always very responsive. We did have some electrical and water issues but they were resolved quickly. Note - You definitely need transport as there isn't anything within walking distance.

Wonderful location for our siblings and their families to reunite and have fun together. Large enough for everyone to have their own space; close enough that gathering for meals and activities was quick and convenient. Our host, Antonella, took great care of us and provided helpful tidbits about the area and getting around Florence. The grounds are beautiful and there are so many spaces and amenities to enjoy. It was difficult to leave.

It was a great week! The location was beautiful- just above Sesto and Florence. So much cooler than being in town. I think the pool might have just been redone. It was amazing and a wonderful place to cool off. Antonella, the host, was so responsive and there for any questions. I highly recommend!

The villa and property was beyond any expectation from the photos. Antonella and crew greeted us with such warmth and the magnificent view was breathtaking. The villa was spotless and beautifully decorated. The infinity pool and outside dining with dinners prepared by 2 fantastic cooks made this an unforgettable experience. There are hiking trails all around the area and a fantastic sauna and hot tub.This was a family gathering of 14 and we all had our own privacy in air conditioned rooms. The breezes on this high hill top were delightful. It was so easy to go to Florence by train after driving into Sesto station taking a total of 40 minutes. We would return to this dreamy Tuscan villa and hope that we will someday.

Incredible place for a large family or group of friends. Great amenities (pool, sauna, hot tub), amazing views, and spacious rooms. Note you'll need to plan ahead (if you do not have a car) for a taxi service or any tours you're looking to do as they book up and it's not walkable to any public transit. Not to worry though, our host was extremely gracious and helpful with coordinating transportation, wine tours, and cooking classes, so as long as you give some notice this should not be an issue!

The most beautiful villa! I booked to stay at Tenuta Lonciano with a group of friends for a ‘hen do’ celebration and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms were so comfortable with beautiful decoration, the view is incredible (especially from the hot tub when the sun is setting!) and it’s ideal to be in the middle of nature with no one else around. Antonella was so friendly and helpful both before and during the stay. Although the villa is not within walking distance to a supermarket this didn’t bother us as it’s a fairly close taxi ride to Sesto or Florence. Would love to come back here again!

Auch im Oktober eine Reise wert! Trotz verspäteter Anreise Antonella hat auf uns gewartet. Antonella ist eine Perle. Sie hat immer ein Lächeln für uns. Kompetent kümmert sie sich um unsere Wünsche . Auch den Einkauf für das erste Frühstück hatte sie für uns in der modern Küche bereit gestellt Diese Tenuta ist traumhaft gelegen ,großzügige Gartenlandschaft mit Aussenplätzen . Pool und Jaccuzi haben wir genutzt und relaxt. Hauseigene Feigen, Walnüsse und Oliven Inklusive Aber auch unsere Ausflüge nach Siena und Florenz sind empfehlenswert. Die unterschiedlichen Zimmer in 2 Häusern sind sehr stilvoll und authentisch im ländlichen Stil eingerichtet. Moderne Bäder ,TV,WLAN Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Wir kommen wieder.

Das war wirklich sensationell. Hatten schon viele Häuser, aber hier passte alles. Absolute Alleinlage. Nächster Nachbar bestimmt 2 km weit weg. Mega Aussicht und absolute Ruhe. Haus innen drinne natürlich nicht hoch modern, ist ja auch schon ein paar hundert Jahre alt, dafür aber top. Badezimmer (sind glaub ich 8) alle neu und modern. Draußen der Garten und die Umgebung ist wirklich nicht zu beschreiben. Pool auch wunderbar und der Ausblick vom Whirlpool ist unglaublich! Der Service vor Ort war auch super. Die Hausverwalterin stand für jede Frage zur Verfügung. Hatten noch zusätzlich ein Abendessen in dem Haus gebucht, wo wir richtig gut bekocht worden sind. Wir können dieses Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würden sofort wieder hinfahren!

Ein tolles Haus, gerade auch für Gruppen - die hübschen Zimmer und die vielen Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten im grossen Garten bieten Rückzugs- und Begegnungsmöglichkeiten. Im Herbst noch einmal einen Pool mit grandioser Aussicht benutzen zu können ist ein weiteres Plus.

Vi holdt vores bryllup i Villa Tenuta Lonciano. Værten Daniele gjorde alt for at vores ophold blev uforglemmeligt. Han har renoveret bygningerne smukt og man kunne ikke andet end at føle sig hjemme! Vi fik lavet mad fra lokale “mamma” flere gange og det kan klart anbefales - det smagte så lækkert! Villaen er svært beliggende og det er en nødvendighed at leje bil for at komme dertil. Det er super nemt at komme til Firenze fra Sesto togstation (lad være med at tage bilen ind til Firenze - parkering er voldsomt dyrt), og det koster kun 2€ for en billet. Tag ind til Firenze sent på eftermiddagen, så er de fleste turister forduftet. Alt i alt en uforglemmelig oplevelse

It is a beautiful villa -- historic and rustic. The location is secluded and relaxing. You can easily get to Florence and surrounding areas as long as you have a car or drivers. I highly recommend the chefs/cooks hired by the owner. We also cooked for ourselves one night. While small, the kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful meal. The pool and grounds are wonderful. My only disappointment was that there is only A/C in 3 out of the 9 bedrooms and we were there during a heat wave and A/C would have really helped.

We just spent the third week of June in this villa. It is historic, charming and incredibly relaxing. The views from the hilltop are wonderful. The neighborhood is incredibly private and quiet. It is a solid 15-20 min drive to the Sesto Fiorentino train station then two train stops into the main Florence train station. This is super manageable during the day as long as you plan accordingly. At night there are less train options so we would take taxi's back to the train station to pick up our cars after dinner. The owner arranged for two women to come and cook us dinner on three nights at our request. The food was wonderful and it was great to have them take care of the shopping, prep and clean-up on days when we went out sight-seeing. I would highly recommend hiring them and be prepared for a lot of food! The wine they provide is local and good, but it you enjoy good wine I would recommend buying it at the store or at a vineyard in advance of dinner. We used the pool a lot despite the fact that there are no pool towels or EXTRA bath towels provided in the house. We bought some. The pool was very refreshing, particularly given the heat wave. We listened to the recommendation of another reviewer and spent an entire day at the villa swimming, resting, sunbathing and cooking in. While the kitchen is small, it is well equipped with everything you need to cook a full meal. We had a wonderful day/night! A few words of warning: there is no A/C in the main house which means that 6 out of 9 bedrooms have no A/C. They have fans but if you are used to a lot of A/C, this can be brutal. We spent a couple of sleepless nights due to the heatwave. Choose your room very carefully. Make sure you have plenty of cross breeze and be prepared to leave windows and doors open all night. If you are squeamish about bugs this could be a problem. The house is out in the country. There are bugs. No cockroaches, but centipedes and other harmless but creepy critters. In the Annex, which is fully remodeled with A/C, you don't have to open windows all night, but bugs will get into the rooms. Again, it's the country and the property is very old, but incredibly charming. We really enjoyed our time there.

Buongiorno..What a terrific find! After hunting through hundreds of villas , we found Villa Tenuta Lonciano! It was absolutely perfect for our family of seven adults and four grandchildred ages 17, 16, 14, and 13. The villa was more than we had hoped for and terrific for our needs. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and one was nicer than the other. The kitchen is filled with every utensil you could possibly need and includes plenty of dishes, pots and pans and silverware. There is a lovely long dining table both inside and outside... including a grill. The outside table is perfect for an evening meal surrounded by the beauty of the hills and looks down on Sesto Fiorentino and Florence. Indeed, the entire setting is more gorgeous than the pictures on the website. Daniele is a wonderful host and even made reservations on our first evening at a nearby restaurant called Ulivo Rosso where the waitress was outstanding and the service was great. We also had carry-out pizza there one evening which was delicious! We took day trips by car into Siena, Florence( by train), Venice and Fiosole (a small, ancient town only about 1/2 hour from the villa.) (We rented two Vans in Florence) It is rather easy to get into Sesto Fiorentino from the villa. You will find the train station into Florence there as well as a grand grocery store, Esselunga. Our trip to Italy was a wonderful success due to our having found this gorgeous home with such magnificent views, a pool, Jacuzzi, fantastic gardens and olive trees. Its location is wonderful....We would certainly recommend it to anyone searching for a dramatic setting with a friendly and helpful host. Our son and son-in-law loved the drive up to the villa....many hairpin turns, but they were able to navigate the road in minivans. We would love to return to Villa Tenuta Lonciano some day! Ciao!!!

This was the worst travel experience that we have ever had. The owner was impossible to reach, and when I did meet him at the property he was unfriendly and unwelcoming. We felt as if we were imposing upon him. The worst part was the “concealed” fees. We stayed for two nights and three days and paid a reasonable rate. Yet, the landlord took a substantial portion of our “security deposit” and refused to return it claiming it was for cleaning fees and utilities. Then he got angry and agitated when I disputed the fees. The management group Posarelli played a complicit role in overcharging and arguing with me about fees. We were there for less than 48 hours and spent a grand total of 16 hours at the property. Yet, we were charged a "weekly" cleaning fee when the small print stated “per week.” Also an excessive utility fee, particularly where the electricity was down for 8 of the 48 hours and the only activity at the property was sleeping for two nights. In fact, the landlord asked if we wanted the heat on and we indicated yes(it was quite chilly at night), yet he never activated the heat (he apparently did not want to pay for it but had no problem charging us for it). I do not recommend this group or the property and warn others to avoid both. At one point during our argument, the owner blurted out that Posarelli was taking most of the rent money, and Posarelli had told him to make the money up by overcharging for utilities and cleaning fees. In addition, the property lacks any kind of congeniality, warmth or amenities. For instance, there are bars and security alarm contacts on every door and window and two or three deadbolts on every door. There are video cameras all over the property and in the buildings. There is a fence around the entire property and a frontgate with a lock and deadbolt (the landlord insists that the gate is to be deadbolted at all times). Inside the property, the place is devoid of tissues, wash clothes and hand soap, etc. and inadequate lighting, pillows and blankets, A nightmarish unpleasant experience to be avoided!

We had booked Tenuta Lonciano to hold our wedding. It was all successful. The host Daniele is very hospitable and friendly. He is happy to be available if there are any questions. The villa is beautifully decorated and is situated high up in the mountains with breathtaking views. Hopefully this is not the last time we visit Tenuta Lonciano. Wedding : During our stay at Villa Tenuta Lociano we had our wedding, and had booked Valentina Dimore as our wedding planner. We had communicated via mail for several months about the wedding. Valentina did an excellent job - we couldnt have asked for more! We really felt she was listening to our wishes and doing her best to fulfill it. Thank you so much for fantastic service all the way through. Photographer: Following the recommendation of our wedding planner, we hired Benedetta. She was really sweet and empathetic. She made good suggestions and understood our wishes. We look forward to seeing the pictures from the wedding.

The setting was breathtaking. Our rooms were good and the common areas gave us room to enjoy our big group of 14 adults. We did lots of hiking on the trails around the Villa and explored the farm, orchard and gardens. The drive into Sesto was difficult but offered us access to the train which we used to visit Florence, Rome, Lucca and more!
