Stayed here for three nights. The place felt like home with all the comforts and amenities one would need. It is spacious with generous sized bedrooms, and a relaxing living room. It is located in the beautiful village of Keld, with hikes at your doorstep. I highly recommend a stay, and I know, like myself, you will be back. Thanks Alison. 😊

Truly God's country here in Keld with panoramic views in every direction! Alison, our host, was generous with her warm welcome as we enjoyed her homemade Yorkshire Fruit Loaf/Cake. The cottage was spotless and had everything we could have possible needed for our stay. The sheep kept us entertained as we watched them outside our windows in the emerald green fields. Can't wait to return and recommend this magical place to our friends and family. Thanks Alison

The cottage was in an exceptionally beautiful spot. Very comfortable, especially the seperate lounge.

This is a very attractive cottage and is well-equipped. I would just give a word of warning to older visitors with dodgy knees - like in so many cottages the stairs are steep. As there is a toilet downstairs this is less of a problem than it might be. With careful planning, for example deciding to brush your teeth downstairs, it should be possible to make the ascent to the bedroom floor just once a day.

Rose Cottage was a beautiful and extremely well kept accommodation. It was perfectly suited for our needs and was really comfortable.
The location was ideal and the scenery was quite simply stunning!
I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in this property very much. The cottage is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated.
The garden is beautiful and a lovely place to sit and have a glass of wine after a day's walking in the hills. Parking in front of the cottage is easy. The area is stunning. (It is advisable to take provisions with you as it is a fair drive to the shops.) We would definitely stay there again.

Never having been to the Yorkshire Dales, I had no idea what to expect but I did know I wanted to stay in the heart of the Dales. This was a trip of a lifetime for my 83 year old mother who had always wanted to visit the Dales but didn’t want to drive and the wonderful Rose Cottage didn’t disappoint. From the moment you walked in the front door it felt like home; a Yorkshire cake on the kitchen counter and fresh daffodils on the table. Keld is a beautiful village with walking paths for hikers, sheep in the pastures, and away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. I almost felt guilty imposing on the village serenity.
Alison is a wonderful hostess and very responsive, even giving a call to check that we arrived. The cottage has everything you need for a stay.
I hope she will have me again as I look forward to returning to her wonderful cottage in the future.

Beautiful cottage. Alison kindly decorated the cottage with a Christmas tree and decorations for us. The goodies she left for us were greatly appreciated!
Very comfortable stay. Lovely with the wood burner. Kitchen had everything you needed for cooking. We hope to return when the weather is better. Thank you!

The property was very quiet and comfortable, the surrounding places are beautiful and safe, we had a wonderful time in our stay.
Just one problem with the checkin process, partly it’s our mistake too as we arrived late in the night when it was raining. The navigation shows the postcode somewhere 2 miles away and the name board was not visible in the night, we think the right postcode is DL11 6LJ, another landmark they can add is, the property is just opposite of Keld Resource Centre. Because, there are no mobile reception about 5miles surrounding we struggled to find this place.
Ms Alison Calvert (the owner) was very helpful, really appreciate that she arrived at around 3am to check us in. Once we were in, we settled nicely and had a wonderful time.

What a wonderful stay! Rose Cottage has every amenity a traveler could want. It’s nicely furnished and very spacious and welcoming. Lovely to have the washer and dryer and plenty of hot water and a great shower. We cooked several meals in the well appointed kitchen. Alison’s Yorkshire tea loaf was delicious, and we appreciated the fresh flowers as well. It was lovely to sit out in her beautiful garden, and admire the sheep in the field next door…they loved coming up to the window when we were sitting in the lounge as well! The village of Keld is perfectly situated to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Don’t miss the resource center, pretty church, and the old school house exhibit in Keld… Very informative and well done. We would highly recommend Rose cottage to anyone visiting this area, and we hope to return someday! Suzy and Eric — Vermont, USA

Such a great find!
A perfect cottage for our family of four. Very comfortable bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and living areas, and great shower. All of this in a beautiful, quiet location with just enough local facilities and a friendly local pub.
Stunning walks on the doorstep, and many more things to do just a short drive away.
The owner, Alison offered a very warm welcome and communication was excellent throughout.
Would recommend 100%.

Beautiful cottage; tastefully furnished & decorated; exceptionally clean. Enjoyed the very pretty garden. Had a little trouble figuring out how to use the dryer, but my technically minded grandson was able to figure it out! Unfortunately, I doubt that I will be returning to the UK, but if I did, the Dales & Rose cottage would definitely be a desired destination.

This cottage is in a perfect spot for getting away from the hustle of city life. Beautiful walks in every direction literally from the front door. Immaculately furnished and the cosy living room overlooking the back field was a pleasure to chill in after a day out and about. Especially in the spring when the lambs are gamboling around.
Cannot fault this place, it is beautiful.

What a find! This delightful cottage, situated pretty much exactly at the halfway point on Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk was just what we were looking for. The accommodation was snug, spotless and well-equipped and the surrounding area of Upper Swaledale is gorgeous. It was a rare and refreshing treat to find somewhere where everything seems to work on Honesty boxes, from the Keld Resource Centre directly opposite the cottage to the tea shop and campsite car park around the corner.

The cottage is perfect for four or five people looking to experience the Dales. It is well appointed and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. It is located in the hamlet of Keld, a peaceful and tranquil place to get away for a time. Excellent centre to walk from with a variety of walks from the door to meet all abilities. There is a real community feel to Keld and the Resource Centre is a fantastic place to learn a little about the history and culture of this delightful Dale.
The owner could not have been more communicative, helpful and welcoming.
We shall be back!

Loved our stay here. A spotless place with everything you need.
Such a beautiful part of Yorkshire, where you can see the countryside at its best! After our long, beautiful, and amazing scenic walks it was great to return to the cottage, have our meal at any chosen time , then chill out on the patio with a glass of wine. Early morning (as I am an early bird ) was spent sat listening to the birds and I also spotted a rabbit twice in the garden , plus we got a great view of an owl swooping down into the field from the front room window. What more can you wish for ? When I visit this area again, I will be back. Thanks Alison.

Nice property for a short break. Good outside seating area.
Unfortunately we had wet weather for our 3 day stay. Still managed several walks in beautiful upper swaledale. Waterfalls were in full force! Keld is pretty isolated with narrow roads in all directions. Probably not an ideal base if you're planning to tour around but there are some wonderful walks from the doorstep.

Lovely cosy cottage that met, no not met, exceeded all our expectations. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and so cosy, we felt "at home" as soon as we arrived. Communications with the owner were brilliant and the fresh flowers and home baked fruit leaf a lovely touch. The location was great with a number of interesting and varied walks on the doorstep. Will certainly be looking to revisit in the future.

First class communications with the property owners.
Very well appointed cottage, warm and cosy in a quiet very small dales village. The garden to the front of the house faces south and catches the sun throughout the day....Table chairs and parasol are provided. Extensive walks up hill and down dale throughout the area. Waterfalls riverside and hill paths open vistas that take your breath away. Swaledale is undoubtedly the most beautiful of the all the Dales, though there is plenty to see in the others. Downstairs the property has large rooms, Dining room and kitchen combined together downstairs make a huge family space and the sitting room has two large sofas for a family evening in. Games are provided and of course their is a TV. A good sized utility room, has a separate entry rear door as well as access from the dining area A toilet also runs off the utility room. The utility has a sink, a washer, a dryer and freezer. It also houses the ironing board and Iron and vacuum cleaner. The boiler in the Utility area also supplies the full central heating system throughout the house. Upstairs there are two large double bed rooms and a single room all rooms have wardrobes and the bigger ones chests of drawers. The generous sized bathroom has an excellent separate shower as well as bath basin and toilet. The owner has gathered plenty of information on where to visit in the area including many wonderfully illustrated books on the Yorkshire Dales by such famed local authors as Alfred Wainwright , Mike Harding, and Amanda Owen. All for your enjoyment...
If you like walking, wonderful scenery, sketching , photography, and exploring then this is the base for you.
