Great location and everything provided for a large party. The house and grounds are spacious and great fun. We really enjoyed the kitchen/conservatory and the covered outdoor dining area. However, the house is shabby in parts and the quality of the bathrooms and water pressure to the showers were a disappointment.

The Old Vicarage is a beautiful old country house with very pretty rooms and furnishings. The proprietress left us very detailed information about finding the home, as well as shops and attractions in the area and recommendations for places to eat. We were also greeted with lovely Welsh cakes and Bara Briar bread, which was a lovely touch. We were happy to be able to use a grill in the back garden and found ample dishware and cookery for preparing meals. The location was quite picturesque and just a short drive to numerous attractions on the peninsula, such as King Arthur’s Stone, Three Cliffs Beach and Rossini Bay Beach. We were in town with a group of 8 for a wedding at Fairy Hill and found the house to be a good set up for our needs. However, the house is in need of attention. The cleaners have been neglecting the dusting and cobwebs and dead insects were plentiful. The showers also need a thorough scrubbing. There was a dead bird just outside the garden door. We were disappointed that the dryer has been decommissioned as it is a recalled older model and requires being replaced. The electrical is also in need of an upgrade as some of the outlets are unusable. Mold is growing in some areas. We understand that a home of this age and size is a large undertaking, but some adjustments with the maintenance would really elevate this property.

Apart from being quite a squeeze for 16 people, we had a wonderful stay at the house. Perfect for a hen party.

A really lovely area that we shall be returning to. Downstairs was ideal for our mixed age group of 10. Plenty of space and lovely rooms. Garden perfect for kids games & kitchen for cooking for 10. Unfortunately previous guests had flushed inappropriate things down macerator toilets which despite best efforts of owners before we arrived resulted in an unpleasant smell in the bathrooms and some other rooms. Unsurprisingly in such an old house the electrics are a bit temperamental but none of this ruined a wonderful sunny family holiday. We felt that the house needed some TLC upstairs but quite understand that it must be a difficult property to maintain. We didn’t meet the owners and so didn’t like to complain but feel sure they would have done more if they’d not been away.
