Relaxing escape in beautiful surroundings with a lovely spa.
Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Beautiful, charming place with big rooms and a lovely sitting area with log fires burning.
Each morning they provided a weather report and suggestions of what to do in the area which was a nice touch.
The breakfast buffet was average and a little basic.
For the 3 course dinner, the ambiance was lovely but the food itself was generally over salted or over cooked

Everything. Room was fabulous with wonderful views of the country house gardens and beyond. Food and drink was excellent. The spa facilities were excellent.
A toilet in the men's changing rooms would be good.

Loved the location and food
We had an issue with no hot water and when addressing it to the receptionist we were dismissed that we had to wait for it to warm, to which we did, however the hot water never came.
A lot of money for a suite but no hot water to use.
Thankfully we were booked into the spa and could use those facilities to wash.

I loved the bucolic location and the aesthetics of the hotel. The bath and spa was magnificent. The surroundings are idyllic, beautiful and picturesque.
Many of the meals were very expensive, although staff were marvellous with finding more affordable options. The customer service was simply outstanding.

The property is in beautiful rolling countryside, and the grounds are beautifully kept.
The reception and sitting rooms are full of charm and character, and a delight to sit in and enjoy the ambiance.
There was nothing to dislike about the property

Great location, lovely atmosphere, lounges etc, dinner was excellent as were tea and scones in the lounge and drinks after dinner. Staff were all very friendly and attentive and knew what they were doing.
There was a longish wait for our cooked breakfasts and the result was ok but not as good as we had expected from the stnadard of our dinner the previous evening.

We liked everything! The hotel has such a lovely, welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and attentive, and the location is beautiful. Our suite was absolutely perfect, really beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, and the bed was so comfortable! Our meal was delicious, and we also really enjoyed sitting on the front verandah with coffees in the afternoon. Using the spa the next morning was just the icing on the cake, too! One of the best massages I’ve had, and the spa staff were excellent.
Nothing! We liked everything!

Amazing setting, grounds were remarkable (one of very few hotels I have stayed in with such a grand lake and spa facilities overlooking the lake!). Parking right in front of the hotel - very convenient. Jacuzzi spa was highly impressive - hard to explain the setting, was covered outside and on 1st floor deck overlooking the lake in the spa building, was the highlight of our stay. Dinner 3 course menu was good, not the best I have had but a solid performance and the wine was reasonably priced which was refreshing. All members of staff we engaged with were friendly.
If you get a chance take a short walk down the gardens in front of the main hotel to the river, walk along the river path to the lake - it is picturesque. If you like birds also some great spots, we came across a Kingfisher!
Alas the bed had a foam mattress topper that was quite uncomfortable, more so noticed the next day when we both woke up with back ache, for a ~£300 / night room i would expect a high quality mattress (Powys room name). Of course it could also be considered a personal preference and some may like it, however for context I stay in a lot of hotels for work and rarely suffer from back ache the next day. The room also had a limited view and overlooked mainly the service entrances, so was some noise up until ~2330hrs, this wasn’t a huge issue for us but worth to note if you like a quiet stay and the window open.
Ambiance at dinner service could have been better, both the restaurant and lounge area had no background music, had very much a ‘library’ feel. I appreciate a quiet dinner but some minimal classic music would have been a nice touch.

The location. The spa treatments. The daily news sheet.
The ‘ nouvelle cuisine’ portions for evening meal.

Excellent facilities and very professional and friendly staff.
Would ask for a front bedroom next time as our bedroom was over the kitchens and therefore very noisy until 10.45 pm and early mornings from 6.30. Also one window faced a blank wall and other gave a view of the kitchen courtyard!!

The decoration and the staff.
Very creaky floor in our room, to be expected with an old property but there was no quiet route to the bathroom!

The Lake Country House Hotel & Spa is in great location, with amazing facilities (spa, beautiful grand for endless walks), and very nice and welcoming staff. Especially, the owner was very welcoming and always happy to stop and chat for a bit. It's a dog friendly place where your dog can enjoy being off the leash, running around. We really enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend it.
2 out of 3 days, the breakfast was really good, with high-quality ingredients, good timing and good taste. However, on our last day (Saturday), the hollandaise sauce with egg benedict wasn't very good, the ham wasn't good quality, and it was cut in half rather than full two slices. We also had to wait a bit longer. Maybe there was a different chef that day, or they ran out of good ingredients, but you would expect consistency in a place like this. At the end of the day it wasn't a big issue, and it didn't impact our overall impression of the place.

Spa was lovely, great variety for breakfast, very laid back vibe.
Very quiet peaceful area with beautiful grounds & facilities.
Bed mattress was uncomfortable for me.
Meals seem to be full 3 course with no other lighter options available.

Firstly I would like to say the food was very good, with a good use of ingredients for the time of the year.
Unfortunately the barmen first spilt half a pint over my partner during pre-drinks, then also dropped the cappuccino cup with the amuse bouche, we watched him drop a plate at another table which made the dinning experience feel like faulty towers. which was a shame as we run a wedding venue and understand how difficult hospitality is but we felt he really let the team down.
The room was very nice but very hot and we where unable to open the windows. The show was cold and drippled out so not useable really, we did report this on check-out.
