Luxury hostel, good value for the money- perfect for digital nomads!

A luxury hostel, one of the best I have stayed in during my travels in Indonesia! The staff is not only friendly but also professional. Upon arrival, I received a welcome drink/snack. They offer free water refill, and you can make yourself coffee or tea whenever. The breakfast is actually really great for a hostel, with coffee/tea, pancakes, fresh fruits, toast, and you can order eggs any style. The rooms are spacious with enough space to store your things. I also found the location quite good. It's about 2 km from the harbour, but as you probably would like to rent a scooter for exploring Penida the distance is not really a problem. If you are looking for a party hostel or a hostel with lots of social activities, maybe this hostel isn't for you, but if you would like to treat yourself to a bit more of a luxury hostel, this is the place! It's also the perfect place if you (like me) travel and work at the same time since the Wifi is reliable and they also have a space (inside with aircon) where you can sit and have an online meeting/work.

The beds are comfortable and large enough, but they would probably need a little renovation, as they make some noise when you move.

This was the second time coming to stay at this property almost 2 years apart. The renovations that have taking place since our last visit were a vast improvement (not that the place was not great the previous stay) the new pool and dorm rooms were very modern and spacious, had good working air conditioning and clean facilities.

Great hostel for the price. Everything was very clean and the staff is very friendly. Their shuttle to Amarta is a nice plus. They also lend you yoga matts :)

Great place to stay, clean, comfortable, and perfectly located to explore the island.

The property is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The rooms are spotless, the beds are super comfortable, and each one has its own locker for personal belongings. There are two swimming pools and breakfast is included — with omelets, scrambled eggs, bread, jam, watermelon, pineapple, mini pancakes, and delicious sweet Indonesian crêpes with sugar and coconut, coffee, milk, hot water and cold water. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, at check-in you’re greeted with a refreshing towel, iced tea, and some cookies. Even though it’s not located directly on the beach, that’s not a problem at all, you usually move around to different beaches every day, and the property is actually very well located to reach everything easily. They offer excursions at very competitive prices and the cheapest fast boat ticket compared to the one at the harbor. They also have a great partnership with Amara restaurant, where you can enjoy a stunning sunset view, relax by the pool, and get two free drinks from 4 to 6 PM plus 10% off your food. Highly recommended!

Good value, good place.

I loved the property - it looks very new and well maintained. I stayed in the 4 bedroom female dorm, and it was probably one of the most comfortable hostels I've stayed in. The showers worked, the ac worked, the lights were bright enough, and we also had curtains for each bed for privacy. There were lockers and towels provided (pay a deposit of 200k) for the duration of your stay. There was a daily breakfast provided which was simple, but sufficient. And the staff were always quick to help and were friendly. It was also easy to schedule rides to the port or to wherever you wanted to be drop off, whether via scooter (35k) or van (price dependent on drop off point). Mind you, roads are bumpy, so scooter/bike can be more comfortable and quick.

There's only limited hair dryers available, so you have to request from the reception if you need it.

Amazing stay

One of the best hostels I’ve ever been to. The staff is super helpful and friendly, well organised activities and tours, great premises and yummy food. The vibe is chill but social around the pool, definitely looking forward to coming back!

Absolutely everything! The staff is one of the best I’ve ever experienced and so are the rest of the hostel facilities. The pool clean and the breakfast absolutely delicious! The room was great and so spacious and the en-suite shower actually showered (iykyk).

Leaving :) Maybe a little the WiFi sometimes but not sure if the hostel could do anything about it.

Very very good hostel!

Brand new hostel, daily cleaned, good included breakfast, enough places to rest and chill next the pool. Comfortable bed and the 4 beds dormitory is very spacious. Good staff also! 10 minutes to the harbour, good restaurants and a corner shop very close to the hostel.

You should have a scooter because grab doesn’t exist on Nusa penida.

Location is a little far out from everything and you need to either scooter or taxi everywhere but it’s like that everywhere on the island so not really a negative.

Great Hostel

Best hostel I ever stayed in - clean, comfortable and very friendly staff!

The curtains in the bunk beds offer some privacy, but are not enough to shield external light, when someone has their reading light on, you can still be disturbed by it. Would recommend changing that for a more opaque curtain

Recommend!! Plenty of activities and great stay!

Amazing breakfast with eggs, sausages, mushrooms, tomato and fruit/bread/coffee. Bathroom is outdoors but super clean and lovely. Not much hot water so have a quick shower. You can put down a deposit for towels and keys and it has bike rental. The harbor/north side of the island is about 10 minutes away. Other attractions like klingking is 40min and diamond beach is 1hour. Crystal bay and gamat bay is great for snorkeling. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. There are a few warungs a short walk away, including jungle which does good food, if you have a bike, go 8 minutes down the road to Father Field bistro. All in all, I would recommend this hostel!!

It’s not really a very social hostel. They do have this really cool service that each night you can get a free shuttle to a beach club for sunset and get a free drink, however we found when we went, everyone split up when you got there, so it was hard to meet people. The island is very activity based, so to meet people, perhaps do a tour that the hostel can organise.

I would definitely come back

The room was nice, clean and had their own bathroom with hot water. The pool area to chill is great. The staff always ready to help you, they gave me the phone number of KOMANG (scooter driver) to arrange the tour. He’s absolutely the best one!! Highly recommended, he was super kind and in every detail.

You can't go back home without staying Nuansa Penida

This is the best hostel I've ever stay!! It's share dorm room, but I feel like I was staying the private villa. I love the pool especially the night time. I can swim while watching the beautiful stars. Also, the free breakfast is amazing!!

For a remote location, guests are dependent on bikes and they seriously need to maintain their bikes. We've regularly hired bikes throughout southeast Asia and these bikes are in a poor condition. The breaks do not work very well, tyres are worn- you can easily skid in wet weather, the sparks are knackered so the engine didn't always start and required manually doing, the exhaust pipe protective cover have broken off on most of the bikes (high risk of burning legs when sharing and getting on/off-witnessed this in Cambodia) and there are broken sharp bits of plastic at the front where your knees are. Some of the bikes are an overkill in terms of power for what you need for getting around the island, we watched some people nearly crash in the carpark outside the hostel almost immediately- wouldn't recommend for first timers. They also drain the fuel out of bike to the point where they didn't leave enough fuel to keep the bike running long enough to get to a petrol station. Both bikes hired cut out within 10 seconds, we went to reception (the night team) and we were told petrol isn't included in the rental price and recommended us to wheel it down the road to a shop that sells fuel by the bottle at much more expensive rate (about double?) compared to the petrol station price. Bathroom isn't the cleanest. Beds are comfy, tall bunk beds with curtains. The walls are thin (can hear coughing/ snoring from other dorm rooms) WiFi temperamental and in a remote place so data is scarce. There is a pool, although no one used it when we were there.

The staff from the get go arranged everything for us and were very proactive - they anticipated our needs which made our trip very easy and reassuring. The room was clean and confortable with plugs at each beds. Nice pool area. The kitchen was closed during our stay so they organized a very efficient shuttle service to a nearby restaurant with an amazing view on the sea. Wifi was amongst the best I had in Indonesia.

We traveled in a group of 6 to Nuansa Penida Hostel, the rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily. The staff were phenomenal, always going above and beyond what was asked or expected. Free breakfast was good. Pools and general areas were clean. Lots of lovely dogs around. The center isn't too far and the hostel can arrange taxis too!

Not close to a shop, the only thing that was a little tough. Easy if you have a bike though.
