Amazing host, brilliant breakfast, amazing scenery, beautiful house.

Separate bathroom, not being able to wear shoes inside property, slippers were supplied though

Clean, very comfortable, and 2 mins walk from the wedding we were attending the next day, breakfast was superb and the host Jenny was so friendly and did everything to make our stay perfect. We were welcomed with open arms and her home is amazing. We chilled in the lovely garden and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you Jenny

Everything was fabulous

Lovely house in a beautiful setting. Our room was great and very comfortable, with a 5-star bed. Breakfast was lovely — especially the butcher’s meat and homemade bread. Perfect location if attending a wedding at Coombe Lodge. The house was beautifully kept.

There are a lot of rules, which affected the overall feel of the stay. It didn’t feel particularly private. No alcohol is permitted in the bedrooms, which was disappointing as we normally enjoy having a bottle of wine in our room. We heard from another couple that there was a chair you weren’t allowed to sit in, which added to the feeling of there being lots of restrictions. The host seemed offended that we wanted to lock our bedroom door, which made us feel uncomfortable. Breakfast is served at a large shared table with all guests. Although we had a nice chat with everyone, we'd personally prefer a private table as a couple. Breakfast was missing beans, which would have been nice on a full English. Overall, the rules and lack of privacy mean we wouldn't choose it for a weekend getaway, despite liking the house and location.
