Gordons

We liked everything about Gordons hotel. The hotel location was perfect. The owners and staff were extremely polite and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, we both enjoyed a full English breakfast with tea and orange. The hotel also has the added bonus of a heated pool which was a delight that me and my wife fully enjoyed to.

Room was lovely and big got a nice touch to it the pink chairs was nice and comfy

Nice and clean the pool was a god send it was hot

The shower only had a massive rainfall shower head not always good for a woman

We actually booked Gordons as we were looking for somewhere to stay relatively close to Bristol as we were going to be going to the Bristol Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It was excellent for getting to and from Bristol but turned out to be so much more. The welcome was lovely and helpful by all members of staff. The location was perfect for easy walking access to Cheddar town and the Cheddar Gorge. The big bonus was the outdoor swimming pool which was very welcome in yet another heatwave (August 2026). Breakfast was very good, parking on site for most of the guests. If you were late in you can park over the road in a pay and display which is free overnight and cheap during the day. Great service and a great location. Thank you looking after us!

Walls were a bit thin and so we could here voices and bathrooms being used next door as well as below us. The location of the hotel was excellent for Cheddar itself but it was plagued by the loud noise of motorbikes, almost continuously.
