Glenda met us in the street and welcomed us to her beautiful apartment. The location is perfect and the apartment is pristine. We were very comfortable with the two bedrooms two baths and two balconies. The kitchen and living area were also conducive to meals and making memories. Glenda provided welcome drinks and snacks which were so appreciated after a long day of travel. There were so many details that made this VRBO extra special.

We went to La Spezia six years ago, and Glenda and her family treated us so well that for our anniversary we returned “home” to La Spezia. The apartment is so nice and clean, and Glenda provides it with everything you need for a cozy vacation. The whole community is welcoming, and Glenda helped so much with advice for restaurants and activities. This time we rented a car and parked it in Piazza Europa. That was great as we drove to many other small towns and cities such as Portovenere, Parma, Modena, and Bologna. We also took the train on other days to Pietrasanta, Pisa, and Cinque Terre. Our favorite was Pietrasanta (Glenda’s suggestion), and you have to walk a little out of your way there and eat at La Mariposa Gastronomia! Our best activity, however, was just sitting on the balcony at the apartment and eating cheese and wine while looking out at La Spezia and seeing the people going about their everyday lives! We plan on returning next year. It’s more than a vacation! It’s a homecoming!

All I can say about the place is - WOW! It is very clean, located in the middle of the city and only 10 minutes from the train station - easy to get to any other city around. The owner, Glenda, and her mother are the best hosts I have ever encountered. They picked us up from the train station to drive us to the apartment. When we arrived, Glenda walked us through everything, how to get to places and recommendations of restaurants and things to do. She also provided food and drink (including two bottles of wine) to help get us started. When our time was done, she and her mon also drove us to the rental car company so we didn't have to get a taxi or drag our luggage 2 miles. Absolutely amazing! One note: The apartment is very spacious, but located in the middle of town. It can get a little loud at night outside the windows on a Saturday night. Not a huge issue - just more of an FYI. So much to see and do in the area, I wish we had been able to spend a few more nights

This is a wonderful rental. The location is ideal for taking the ferry or the train to explore the Cinque Terre. Restaurants and a grocery store are just outside the front door. There is a view of Castello San Giorgio from the balcony. The interior of the property is exactly as shown in the photos. We stayed in July during very hot and humid weather. The individual conditioning units in each room kept the entire apartment very cool. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard. Glenda is absolutely wonderful. She went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. She met us at the parking spot and brought us back to the building, helped with our luggage, obtained dinner reservations for us and provided a lovely ‘welcome’ selection of food & drinks. Make sure to try the local pasta pasta provided!

Glenda was a wonderful host and her apartment served very well as a base while we visited Cinque Terre. It was close to both the ferry dock and the train station. The apartment was very well stocked and had everything we needed and more. Her father was so sweet to pick us up from the train station- especially nice since we had our 5 year old son and 74 year old mom with us. Definitely would stay again.

My husband and I traveled around Italy to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and we ended up in La Spezia on our actual anniversary date. Not only did this apartment exceed our expectations, but the host Glenda was spectacular!! She made an extra effort for our celebration and even gave us a small gift! The apartment is a gem. Pictures on the site make it look good, but it exceeds your expectations by far when you set foot in the door. It’s no doubt a luxury apartment designed with class and a special vibe to it. The kitchen is top notch, and all furniture is terrific. Bathrooms are gorgeous and very well equipped. The location is just perfect to reach beautiful places for day trips to cinque terre, Lerici, etc. But the best is the family that owns the apartment and manages it. We had an emergency during our stay (had nothing to do with the apartment, to be clear!) and we were treated like family. They were so, so helpful we feel like we could have not made it without their consistent and keen interest in helping us and providing whatever support they could offer. In a few words, just amazing people. We will use this apartment again in the future when we go to Italy to celebrate Christmas. Hands down, the best we’ve ever found on VRBO. Thanks Glenda and Pierluca for all you did for us, and for the wonderful property you allowed us to rent!

You will love the location of Glenda's apartment in La Spezia. This is a beautifully finished out apartment with state of the art appliances, terrific street views and a magnificent super host. This destination will make your stay near Cinque de Terre and Porto Venere a great place to begin your day trips. After our stay there we traveled for several weeks from North to South along the coast of Italy and this apartment was our favorite of all our accommodations. Glenda knows the area extremely well and gave us great advice on things we may have missed which made our trip very memorable. We will look forward to returning. Judy from Texas

We have never stayed at a VRBO or HomeAway property that was as well kept, appointed, stocked and supplied as Holiday House. Kudos goes to the manager, Glenda, who is an experienced traveler herself and knows exactly how to make a guest feel at home. The abundance of snacks, cereals, groceries, beers and wine found upon our arrival really showed just how much she cares. Thanks Glenda. You are the best!

Glenda La Spezia When arriving in La Spezia, we were in shock at the condensed urban space able to live on the Italian coast. While we’d expected a decent residence for our brief two days in La Spezia, somewhere clean to set our things, we were met with our favorite place we stayed in the whole our Italian experience. Met by Glenda, our delightful host, and her father, we were so pleasantly surprised with her fantastic English and welcoming personality. Moreso than any other vacation rental host we’ve experience, we were treated to luxury accommodations at her newly renovated, apartment, complete with a stocked fridge and spotless, tasteful decor. With two balconies and two huge bedrooms, all complete with modern appliances and spacious storage, our family could not believe how beautiful the space was. We were given recommendations on where to go through business cards left by Glenda and were able to wash our clothes in the washing machine under the kitchen counter. There were more than enough pillows and blankets and the energy in the apartment was unparalleled, decorated with Rolling Stones and David Bowie that will make you want to redecorate as soon as you return home. Glenda could not have been more accommodating and we’d encourage any and all visitors to La Spezia or Cinque Terre to stay with her and enjoy a relaxing and lovely experience. We can’t thank her enough.

The apartment was so well equipped with every thing you would want. The upgrade done on the place is contemporary, bright and airy. There were plenty of linens and big fluffy bathrobes in both of the nice size bathrooms. The owner even had wine, drinks, fresh fruit and vegetables and much much more! The cute balcony overlooked the street below with a nice of of a small castle. If we ever visit again we would definitely stay here!!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the apartment. Glenda was a perfect and thoughtful host and made sure that we were well taken care throughout our stay. The apartment was incredibly well equipped with everything that we needed including books, games, wi-fi, Sky TV, access to Netflix etc. and came with the most well stocked and varied larder and fridge that I have ever come across in a holiday rental. A Magical Christmas in La Spezia

We stayed in the Holiday House for our Christmas 2018 vacation to Italy. It was our first time to visit Italy, and Glenda and her family helped to make it a wonderful trip. The house looks even better than the photos. It was clean and comfortable. Glenda had decorated the house for Christmas, and we even had a Christmas tree! Glenda had also stocked the pantry with everything we would need for the week. Her father assisted us with the parking and managed all of our heavy luggage for us. From the beginning of the trip, we were able to relax! Glenda also arranged for her father to drive us to Cinca Terre to see the Christmas lights in the town of Manarola. It was a beautiful trip, and we appreciate all of the extra planning and organization that they provided! We would definitely choose to stay in the Holiday House again. It is centrally located in La Spezia, and close to all of the tourist attractions of the town. The restaurants were great and so was the shopping. We had coffee every morning in the cafe at the bottom of the apartment building, and the staff there was very welcoming and eager to help us with our Italian. We are looking forward to seeing Glenda, her family, and La Spezia again soon!

Last minute our travel plans changed. We are from the States and have been to Italy several times but never the Cinque Terre area. We looked for hotels then said lets give Homeaway a try. Bottom line is that you never really know what to expect based on some images on a web site. But Glenda and her family's apartment in the center of La Spezia was awesome, even much better them the pictures. It was recently completely renovated, the place rivals the best hotels around but the hotels don't have the personal service that Glenda, her father and mother provide, they literally made us feel like we were dignitaries. The only problem is that Homeaway only goes up to 5 stars and they deserve a perfect 10. Thank you and we will definitely be back!!

This place was nothing short of terrific. Glenda did a great job making this place very nice and clean to stay in, we could not have enjoyed our stay more. The location is very good in La Spezia as well, just a few minutes walk to the ferries and/or the train. The balcony's overlook a really nice town square with plenty of places to eat. Further, Glenda is a delight. She helped us with parking, bag transportation and even getting tickets for boating to Cinque Terra; she was even nice enough to have a fully stocked fridge waiting for us with beer, wine, milk, eggs, snacks, etc...Thanks to Glenda (her parents) and such a nice and comfortable place, I very highly recommend this place!

You will love everything about this place. Starting with excellent communication, and continuing on with train station pick up, to a nice little assortment of food and beverages to get you started. You have a tough decision to make -- enjoy coffee or wine from the balcony, or stroll the streets of LaSpezia and absorb a real (few tourists) Italian city with lots of pedestrian areas. If your plans include the Cinque Terre you're just a 15 minute train ride away. We enjoyed the LaSpezia harbor front and appreciated the well appointed apartment with great beds and even robes. We'll be back for sure!!!!
