About this cottage rental

At 400 metres above sea level, under the gaze of Monduver and the fresh Mediterranean breeze can be found this beautiful area, known for centuries as the valley of the Sorcerer. It was here in La Drova that the Cistercian monks from the Monastery of Santa Maria del Valldigna in 1723 built what is known today by the local community as the "Houses of La Drova" which were originally conceived as a rest and shelter for the peasant farmers and draft animals that worked the surrounding land. In the nineteenth century as a result of the confiscation of Mendizabal, the property passed into the hands of two families from the Xalo area from which we, the present owners have over a number of years lovingly restored it, so that others can feel and experience the history through its walls, arches and beautiful landscapes.

While we were filming a movie in Barx, our sound team lived in the Descanso del Monje for three weeks and they were delighted with everything. They all said it was the best place they had ever stayed during a shoot - not a single complaint, and nothing but praise. Not only is the Casa Rural beautiful and comfortable and inexpensive, but the owners are equally charming. I recommend every aspect of it!

Le contact a été parfait avec le propriétaire, rapide. La maison était impeccable, spacieuse et fraiche grâce à ses murs très épais. Les ventilateurs faisaient du bien la nuit. L’endroit est calme, au milieu de magnifiques montagnes, à 20 min de la mer. Les repas dans le patio ou les soirées sous les étoiles sur la terrasse surélevée étaient top! Fuimos un grupo de amigos y una mascota, y la verdad que la casa muy bien, con todas las comodidades y en un entorno que nos impresionó, tanto Pepe primero y Maite después se preocuparon de que estuviéramos a gusto e informados de todas las actividades que podíamos realizar y dónde comprar. La casa tiene calefacción y estufa y no pasamos nada de frío. También subimos al MONTDUVER y aunque fue duro las vistas desde arriba merecen mucho la pena. Muy contentos y agradecidos.

Hemos pasado un fin de semana genial en familia (6 adultos y 2 niños). La casa es tal cual muestra la web, con espacios muy amplios, completamente equipada y con una limpieza impecable. Hemos estado 7 amigos del trabajo pasando el fin de semana y fue todo muy agradable. Todo super limpio y acogedor. Muy preparado para cocinar, tenían todo lo necesario para vivir un fin de semana sin ningún tipo de problema. Se pueden hacer rutas paseando por el bosque.

Hemos pasado un fin de semana y tanto la casa como el lugar son excelentes para pasar unos días de paz y tranquilidad. La casa está PERFECTA, tiene de todo y es muy espaciosa y el lugar es tranquilo, con excelentes vistas y muy bonito. Totalmente recomendable. Hem passat un cap de setmana i tant la casa com el lloc són excel·lents per a passar uns dies de pau i tranquilitat. la casa és PERFECTA, té de tot i és gran. El lloc és tranquil amb precioses vistes i en general tot molt bonic. Per cert, al bar Toni de Barx fan unes pizzes boníssimes.

La mejor Nochevieja rural!

Hemos pasado una Nochevieja estupenda con amigos en el Descanso del Monje! El paraje es espectacular, la casa está rodeada de montañas y las vistas desde la terraza son increíbles. Tiene todas las comodidades y cuenta con espacios amplios (salón, patio interior, terraza superior). La casa está en perfecto estado, los muebles nuevos, las camas cómodas, todo muy limpio y con los detalles muy cuidados. Además, es muy tranquila y se descansa muy bien. Los dueños son muy amables, flexibles y comprensivos (permitieron que lleváramos a nuestro cachorro de 2 meses), muy detallistas y totalmente accesibles en cualquier momento. Nos aconsejaron lugares para comer, rutas de senderismo, caldearon la casa para nuestra llegada, etc. No podíamos pedir más!! Sin duda repetiremos si tenemos ocasión. GRACIAS!!
