We loved everything about our stay at Ryokoji Temple, wish we could have stayed longer than one night. The accommodation is excellent, very new and well appointed. The food was a stand out, beautifully presented and expertly prepared by the hosts. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were outstanding. The hosts were so friendly and inclusive, we were invited to join the evening prayer service and so glad we did. Exceptional place to stay and base for exploring the area around Mt Aso. Loved it, so will you.
Perfect in every way, I have no recommendations for change.

Die kurze Andacht im buddhistischen Tempel war sehr interessant. Das vegane Abendessen war hervorragend und sehr lecker (oishî), ebenso das Frühstück. Die Vermieter (Ehepaar) waren sehr freundlich.

Beautiful place! Highest rating for this temple stay. But the absolute highlight were dinner and breakfast.
