About this villa rental

As soon as you arrive you can already breathe the flavour of the grass, flowers, trees, Mediterranean vegetation. You are in the private garden (300mq) of the house; just a few steps, ahead 50m, there is the swimming pool (5m x 10m) with sun terrace equipped (parasols, sunbeds, gazebo) ideal place where the guests can relax and appreciate the beautiful view surrounding you. In front of the villa, there is a nice patio where you can enjoy your meals. The House (200sq m) has two floors. When you enter the front door, you are welcomed by a cosy kitchen, continuing we arrive into a comfortable living room. It has a panoramic arched glass door that opens out onto the front patio. A door in the living room opens into living/dining room with kitchen corner, a fireplace and double sofa bed. A glass door in this room opens onto a paved furnished side terrace with tables, chairs and barbecue.

Our group of 6 had an amazing experience at this beautiful villa. We wish we had more time to spend there as the outside had stunning mountain views and the inside was filled with old world charm. The pool was an added bonus. The hosts were good to deal with and helped us with a delicious dinner and chef reservation. We would highly recommend. Hope to be back soon.

The Pescia house/property is the seventh Home Away/VRBO property we have rented in Italy over the last 15 years, and it was the best experience ever. The house is comfortably appointed, and the olive tree groves, lawns, and gardens are gorgeously designed and maintained. Everyone loved the pool and just "being" in that environment. The entire Spadoni family works together to ensure a memorable experience. They are quick to act on anything required and always ready with suggestions, answers, and solutions—available but never invasive. The house is about 800 feet above sea level in the hills above Pescia, and it was always calm and breezy. We were there all of June, and our windows remained open throughout. Its location made day trips to Florence, Lucca, and Pisa easy. We also made overnight trips to Milan and Rome and were always happy to return "home" to Pescia. Truly wonderful!

Really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable accommodations and lovely clean pool. Gorgeous property with fragrant flowers everywhere . Giulio helped us hire a chef and we had a lovely outdoor traditional dinner with multiple courses for 50 euros each. Would definitely stay here again .

Really nice and cozy Villa sorrounded by a marvellous environment in the hearth of Tuscany. The Villa is 5/10mins by car from Pescia, hence isolated in the incredibile nature of this place: perfect to spend some time with your friends or family with all the privacy you may need. Also pool and bbq are great. The owners were really flexible in accomodating a late check-in and let us spend a couple of extra hours to relax in the pool before leaving. Highly recommended!

The house was more than we expected. Every room, including the bathrooms, was very clean. The kitchen offers more kitchen supplies than usual. The whole house was lovingly decorated and fresh flowers were planted everywhere in the garden. You can tell, that the owner is very passionate about renting this house. The remote location offers a great place to relax, but with a car it takes only 10 minutes down the winding mountain road into the city. But as we have read in other reviews, the house was not easy to find at first. Giving the coordinates, or a more detailed description after booking might be a way to solve the problem in the future. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable and would book and recommend it again at any time.

Casa Santoveccio was like being on a movie set in Tuscany. Absolutely beautiful in every way. The house and pool were very clean and we loved the antique furniture. We had the chef come on our last night to prepare dinner and the meal was amazing. Guilio and Fausto were very responsive in their communication and attentive to our needs. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return someday.

Casa Santovecchio is a lovely character house perfect for 10 people, with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms plus a toilet. The pool has lovely 360 degree view of surrounding hills, plus there is an upper lawn with hammock in the olive trees, the outside dining table for 10 people is always shaded. The valley it is located in is known as 'Switzerland in Pescia' and there are 10 hillside villages along the valley. We had a lovely 2 week stay in August 2019

Clean and nice located house in the country side with a lot of green around. The house is up in the hills but still you can reach Pescia by car in less than 15 min. The owner are very friendly and helpful.

This villa was perfect for our group of eight. The rooms are pretty & comfortable. There is ample equipment for catering & eating outside, including a barbecue. We made great use of the pool which is set in a pretty garden & was surrounded by flowering jasmine. There are shady spots to sit beneath the olive trees & even a hammock. Paradise! Casa Santovecchio is set on the hillside in a tranquil spot with lovely views. However, it's only a short drive from Pescia for stocking up on provisions (there are a few supermarkets with long opening hours for those who arrive late). Road & train access from Pescia is great for trips to Florence, Lucca etc. We had a fantastic holiday here!

We spend 9 relaxing days in this traditional Rustica house which is nicely renovated. Location is private with a nice poolarea. Equipment is less and we would recommend guests to bring sun umbrella to make shade (especially with kids) and fans for the bedrooms in the nights. We found it very hot as we like to close the windows for mosquitoes during the night. Guilios father was helpful and kind guiding for supermarked etc.

This house was truly our home away from home. It was the right amount of space for the 9 people in our family, and the pool was a bonus! The owners were great to work with and answered all of our questions in a very timely manner. The property is a true picture of Tuscany and the location was perfect for day trips around the area, including Pisa, Florence and Cinque Terre. This was our second time renting this villa and I don't think it will be our last!

We (a family of 5 with three older/grown up children) had a lovely time at this villa in Pietrabuona in August 2017. The weather was perfect and the position in the hills ensured that it wasn't too hot or stuffy at night. There had been a problem with the plumbing when we arrived but Fausto ensured that all was put right as soon as possible and could not have been more friendly or helpful. The house is well-equipped and everything is in good working order. The local town, Pescia, is pretty but not particularly touristy. We visited Lucca and Florence but spent many hours enjoying the house and the pool, which was fantastic..

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely villa. The accommodation was superb and the friendly owners made everything as easy as possible. This is the perfect spot to unwind and relax and also the restaurant in the village at the bottom of the hill was excellent. Overall a wonderful time and we would love to visit again.

I stayed at the villa with seven of my friends for a week. It was a wonderful experience for us all. As soon as we arrived we fell in love with the house. Giulio and his father were so helpful during our stay. We had one minor issue with the washing machine but it was handled quickly. Also, I took the advice from one of the earlier reviews and we scheduled a chef to come out to the villa to prepare dinner for us one night. It was absolutely the best meal we had while in Tuscany!! Thanks for making our vacation in Italy so a memorable and wonderful experience.

We rented the house for four weeks. From time to time we had guests. When we decided to rent the villa for such a long time we where a bit nervous. In the past we have experienced a number of incidents in US, England, Cornwall and elsewhere. This property was eventually more than anyone can expect. Every aspect of our stay is memorable and the owners maintained the property discrete and in a way that is impressive. Kind and friendly people also. No drawbacks? Well, one thing can be improved. We had to by knifes. The ones in the kitchen had seen better days. No matter what you tried to cut, it gave to much resistance for the poor knifes... But an investment of € 20 solved the problem. I'm sure the owners had provided us with knifes if we had asked them, but everything else was so nice and perfect that we didn't want to make a rather silly complain. If possible, we will most certainly return.

8 of us stayed (4 adults, 4kids) at the property and we have had a marvellous time. It is isolated on a hill but the view is second to none particularly from the swimming pool. We all spent a lot of time around the pool as you don't really get tired of the view you get from there. Kids loved exploring around the house. It is conveniently located for day trips to Pisa, Lucca and Florence. There are also plenty of typical villages to explore nearby. Giulio was a great host. The house is full of character and our first experience of Tuscany was a complete success. A week was not enough though :)

This was our second visit to this villa, which by itself indicates how much we like it. The house is very comfortable for up to 8-10 people and the owner is easy to reach and very responsive. It is extremely well-maintained and the views are unbelievable. The location is great for all the main attractions in Tuscany. The swimming pool is a real treat. It is large,very clean and only lightly chlorinated. It is very uncommon for us to return twice to the same vacation location but this house (and Tuscany) was worth making an exception.

Wir haben unsere Ferien in diesem stilvollen hübschen Natursteinhaus mit großem, gepflegten Garten sehr genossen. Der Pool mit komfortablen Liegen war herrlich erfrischend. Das Haus war sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es war unglaublich ruhig und erholsam und trotzdem waren verschiedene Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Pisa, Lucca und Florenz gut erreichbar innerhalb von 30 bis 60 Minuten. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Jederzeit würden wir wiederkommen oder das Haus weiterempfehlen. Ein kleines Schlafzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten hatte keinen Schrank im Zimmer, was natürlich ein Nachteil war. Kleine Frühstücksteller könnte man auch noch nachrüsten. Das sind aber nur Kleinigkeiten. Das Haus war super und verdient 5 Sterne.

Absolutely superb accommodation and location. As soon as you arrive you're welcomed by a smell of lavander bushes in front of the house. You're surrounded by olive trees and jasmine. The house, outside patio and the pool area are fantastic. We were party of 10 adults and 3 children from different parts of US, Canada and Europe. All of us travel extensively and this must have been our best vacation ever thanks to an excellent "customer service" from Giulio prior to our arrival. As well as Giulio's dad once on property. The location of the villa is perfect to explore all the beauties that Tuscany has to offer (Firenze, Sienna, Cinque Terre, etc.). The house is very well maintained, spacious, and again, in beautiful surroundings. Would recommend this property in a heartbeat. Thank you Giulio for this special place.

Two families and a granddad from Iceland staied at Casa Santoveccio for a week. Total of 9 people. The house and surroundings was all we could ask for, very Italian style. The swimmingpool was used a lot and we explored the surroundings by foot and car. The owner and his father is very helpful and reasonable. We had an excelant stay. Casa Santovecchio was an absolute treat! My friends and I stayed for a week and had a fabulous time. The house is in a beautiful area, up in the hills with gorgeous views, and cute little towns around. It's also quite close to Florence, Pisa, and the Chianti wine region by car. Our only regret is that we didn't spend more days at the house. A week wasn't enough to enjoy the house, the pool, the views and the pleasures the region has to offer. Giulio's father who welcomed us was very kind and hospitable and was only a phone call away whenever we needed him to help out with any house issues we had. I would highly recommend the property to anyone who is considering renting this place.

On the occasion of our anniversary we were guests with our children and grandchildren in this wonderful accommodation, generously facilitated for maximum privacy for all. The house was cleaned very well, the garden tidy and mowed, fine outdoor terraces and a lovely fresh pool. Excellent base to explore different parts of Tuscany. Thanks to this house we had a wonderful family celebration. Highly recommended!

We stayed in this villa with 9 people in May 2013. The villa and grounds are beautiful, with great views of the surrounding mountains. The villa was very comfortable and clean, and had a lot of character. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice villa that is a little bit off of the beaten path. It was a wonderful place to go and relax for peace and quiet after sightseeing during the day. Getting to the villa requires a drive up a somewhat steep and narrow mountain road for a short distance. This did not create any problems for us, but potential renters should be aware of this.
