About this house rental
If you are looking for a great summer getaway to an unspoiled, unhurried, unbelievable place, look no further. This luxurious vacation home is nestled on 11 wooded acres with over 500' of private lake frontage on Lake Huron. This is not a condo or in an association. This is all private lake frontage for your ultimate relaxing vacation. When you arrive to your vacation home, you will be amazed at your 1500 sq. ft. white cedar deck overlooking Lake Huron. The deck is great for entertaining, or just sipping your favorite beverage while watching all the Great Lakes freighters right out front. I built this home in the year 2000, with nothing but quality materials and craftsmanship. The home boasts a wall of glass facing the lake that goes from the floor to the ceiling. In the home you will find over 50,000 lineal feet of western red cedar imported from Oregon. In the bedrooms you will find custom made furniture, including log beds, dressers and nightstands. The master suite has over 900 sq. ft. and includes a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower. The game room has a pool table and Foosball table (just in case there is a rainy day). Your stay will also include full use of four kayaks and two canoes. I built this home on Drummond Island because it truly is the best place in the world to relax. The sunsets are some of the best in the world. It has every modern convenience combined with the appeal of a northern atmosphere. If you can't relax here, you should see a doctor.

This was one of five homes we booked for our Matriarch's celebration of life. We just needed bedrooms. It looked beautiful online, was available and reasonable so we booked it. It was beyond expectations! The pictures don't even come close to showing how spacious it is. We weren't there for a vacation so didn't spend much time on the deck but did for a few hours one afternoon. So relaxing! This home has everything you need including a washer and dryer and the kitchen is well equipped. (it did not have W-Fi, or if it did, we couldn't find log in info) Our host was very responsive with any questions we had. It's a bit of a drive down two gravel roads but that's part of the charm of Drummond Island. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We loved watching the freighters! We downloaded the app that was in the D.I. Guide so we knew when they were coming.
Kayaking, fishing, swimming, rock hunting, bike riding, played catch & relaxed, alllll at the house. We ventured out to find a sandy beach and a short 13 minute drive fround D.I. Township Park that the kids loooved.
After dark when the kids came inside, the house is a hide n' seek dream HAHA!
The layout and huge windows and breeze coming off the lake were a dream. We couldn't have asked for more.
OH and the kids got to see their 1st bear(s). Definitely lifelong memories made.

This is our 2nd year staying at the property. We love the property being right on the water. The kids can swim anytime. The trails are not far from the house. We love watching the boats go by. The house does need lots of repairs which we thought they would have been completed a year later. The deck was dangerous and you could fall off it. The windows leaked when it rained. Lots more little repairs. Overall we love the location.
