The property offered easy access to the town of Volterra and was clean. It was a rustic property in the old town.

This is not a 4 star property. It is more like 2 star. The sofa was threadbare and the access to the property was extremely difficult. We had to drag suitcases from a car park 600 metres away. The property was 3 storey with narrow stairs making it difficult to get suitcases to the bedroom. The bathroom was on the middle floor and bedrooms on the top floor. The pictures of this property give a false impression of what it is like inside. We moved out a day early as found the property depressing, noisy and had no view, other than the windows of the house opposite.

DO NOT BOOK THIS APARTMENT AT ALL!

I liked the location of the apartment, as it was close to Volterra city and made it easy to explore the area. The surroundings felt convenient and accessible in terms of reaching the main sights. However, the parking situation was not good and made it less practical for anyone traveling by car.

DO NOT BOOK THIS APARTMENT. While the apartment itself looked okay at first, it was unbearable inside: no air conditioning, just useless fans, making it nearly impossible to sleep in the Volterra summer heat. Worst of all, the bathroom reeked of sewage, had mold, and the shower overflowed into the rest of the bathroom after just a few minutes — completely unworkable for a family. We left after one horrible night, and despite the contact person initially agreeing via WhatsApp to a full refund (we even sent photos and videos), he went silent as soon as Booking.com reached out for confirmation. He stopped replying to calls or messages, and weeks later we are still fighting to get our money back. This place is a scam and it’s shameful they are charging these prices for such conditions.

This house could be really nice if the took pride in the home or cared about the guest experience.

Location and neighborhood.

Musty odor from bathroom drain permeates the house. Wi-Fi did not work upon arrival and there was NO guest information booklet in the house. There was also no signage with Wi-Fi password anywhere in the home. If you don’t have Wi-Fi, you have no way of accessing your email to find the password in details that were sent by the host. More importantly, if you were unable to get into the lockbox or if you lost the key, you have no one to call. There was no information inside the house regarding an emergency phone number. Couch in the living room was heavily worn and deteriorating. (Photo attached) When you have more than a couple kitchen appliances going, the fuse gets tripped.( I’m guessing it’s a 1.5 KW electrical draw, which is insufficient for a rental property.) Unfortunately, the bed pillows are rock hard and sheets are like sandpaper. Finally- it was hot and there is no air conditioning. Be mindful of this during mid summer stays. I own a successful short term rental property so I understand both the challenges and opportunities that an owner faces. This place could be amazing with a little thoughtfulness and attention to details!

Unique expierience in a atmospheric house in the center of Volterra

Great location in Volterra, easy to get from parkings. You have the whole building for youself, which is kitchen on the ground floor, bathroom and living room on the first floor and two bedrooms on the top, which means a lot of space. Very easy check-in and check-out.

As it's three-story bulding, there's a lot of stairs, but it wasn't really a problem for us. Also on the ground floor you might notice the smell of sewer, especially after a rainy day.

A warm welcome with a genuine authentic experience

Volterra is a beautiful place and the location was absolutely stunning. 5-10 minutes walk to amazing cafes and restaurants. Riccardo was brilliant! Great communication and excellent advice on where to eat and visit. I unfortunately left my wedding ring in the apartment and only realised once we got the the airport. Messaged Riccardo and he promptly found and posted the ring back to Scotland. Thank you.

Perfect for a relaxing stay in Volterra.

Great location in Volterra, close to restaurants, bars and museums. Property was well appointed with all necessary facilities for a comfortable stay. Keyless entry was straightforward and convenient. Useful and comprehensive information provided ahead of arrival. Would book again.

Lots of space to unwind & enjoy Volterra

2 bedroom, 3 level townhome puts you minutes away from the center of town. All the amenities you could want are found here, including washer and dryer, full refrigerator/freezer, coffee machine, mood lighting, large screen TV w/HDMI hookup and stylish decor. We extended our stay to further enjoy our time in Volterra. Owner was quick to communicate with us. Easy to access the home via door code (no need to meet someone at a specific time). Would highly recommend to others.

Nothing - we had a great stay here. Only thing that may be a concern for others is the 3 levels in the townhome. Need to be able to walk up/down stairs (kitchen ground floor, living room 1st floor, bedrooms 2nd floor). It wasn't a problem for us.

The almost perfect apartment. You would like not to leave this place

Very nice apartment located on the old town. It's quiet, situated in a little frequented little street, 3-4 minutes walk from one of the entrance gates surrounding the old town. Within a stone's throw there are many places where you can drink coffee, eat breakfast, lunch, buy a sandwich, a multitude of restaurants or do some shopping. An apartment is cozy, clean, tidy and well-equipped. It offers a huge fridge, electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, and if you prefer a moka express, a set of glasses, mugs, plates and pots etc. It allows you to prepare meals by itself. There are a well-functioning wifi and Netflix as well. The heating during my stay in (November) worked impeccably, although it requires some attention to figure out how it works. On the street level is entrance and kitchen. On the first floor is a considerable bathroom and not too large but cozy living room. In the bathroom, I had at my disposal a huge shower cubicle, two moderately comfortable to use sinks, a good quality washing machine and dryer, a set of basic cosmetics and a lot of space. On the top level are situated twice bedroom. The large and comfortable bed was to lined fresh and fragrant bedding. In bathroom waited for me an equally clean and immaculate set of towels. Check-in took place online and after completing I received a digital code to opens the front door. Everything was clearly explained to me - what and how. Simply and hassle-free. In the old town is forbid to entrance and park by car there without the permit. Near the apartment, in front of one of the city's entrance gates (S. Francesco) is a small free parking. However, you have to be realny lucky to find a free place there. Thus, I suppose that I'm lucky man, because every each day I managed to do that. But don't worry, as far as I know, there is at least one a large free car park nearby, more or less 8 to 10 minutes walk.

Apartment has one downside - it's so nice and cozy in you would like not to leave this place ;)

Great house in Volterra

Great location in centre of Volterra, not far from everything you need. Communication from the host was good, and check in with the keypad worked well. Rooms were big, clean and comfy; and the heating worked well for the cold nights in November.

It is beautiful traditional home close to all the amenities, lovely feel in the house with the arched stone ceilings, all mod cons everything you need for your trip highly recommend we will return again. All kind of confort in the house, tv Netflix internet , light Control.

Great apartment

The location of the apartment is fabulous, within the city walls but also close to good parking facilities. The apartment was furnished with everything we could have needed, and even had extras such as washing machine tablets, kitchen rolls, condiments etc which we really appreciated. Riccardo was a great host, and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay.

Cómoda y acogedora.

Un barrio muy tranquilo y sin mucho ruido. El baño me pareció muy grande y la ducha fue muy cómoda. La cama era realmente cómoda, se descansa muy bien. Las instalaciones tenían todo lo necesario para pasar la estancia. Que disponga de Netflix es un puntazo y se agradece.

Que hubiesen tantas escaleras en la casa. El sofá al pasar los minutos es algo incómodo al igual que las sillas de la cocina.

Come si vede dalle foto molto bella la casa e gli arredi.

L’appartamento è disposto su tre livelli. La manutenzione della casa lascia purtroppo abbastanza a desiderare. La ventola del bagno rotta e nessuna finestra. Odore di fogna per tutta la casa!
