Hotel Vila Mare

Very nice stay at Hotel Vila Mare Durrës. The location is excellent, just behind the central part of the waterfront, making it very convenient for exploring the area. The reception staff were excellent, very kind and welcoming, and spoke very good English. The room was comfortable, with a very comfy bed and a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. Breakfast is served at the bar on the main street, which is also a nice spot to start the day. Overall, a very pleasant stay and a place I would happily recommend. Good value for money.

The only thing I missed was a drying rack in the bathroom or on the balcony. This would be very useful, especially for drying swimsuits and beach towels after a day at the sea.

Not a dislike - just a comment - have the fee payable in cash in local currency at check in if possible, but euros are also ok!

We used the hotel as a stopping point during a longer trip, so didn’t need much, but did want to give our kids a break from our long drive to run along the beach, and sought a place with parking and breakfast. The hotel met our needs in these respects.

For a longer stay, I would not return. The hotel charges extra for everything (beach towels, for example), you cannot order food to the room, rooms are small, parking is available but a challenge.
