The house has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a sofa bed, kitchen, a bathroom, a terrace and a garage.
This is a small but very nice house and is located in the center of Porto da Cruz.
Porto da Cruz is one of the parishes in the municipality of Machico. Its name came from a cross that was once placed by explorers on the bay that was used as a haven. Upon arriving, you will quickly fall in love with the natural, peaceful and picturesque character that so characterize this village. The daily life in the village of Porto da Cruz is oblivious to the stress or movement of large cities and here time seems to have stopped.
During your stay, you will be able to visit the old sugar cane factory, which has been operating in the same way since 1927. Also not to be missed is the place known as Penha d'Águia, an imposing rock that separates Porto from Cruz from Faial. Getting to the top of this magnificent rock formation can become a real challenge as the access is winding and steep, but the birdsong will help you along the route. When you are finished, you will be sure it was really worth it because the views from the top of Penha D’Águia are absolutely stunning!
This village is also famous for its wines, known as American dry wine. This local product is the theme for a party that takes place in early September (Wine Festival).
In Porto da Cruz, there are two other magnificent religious celebrations during the month of August.

Huisje Porto da Cruz
Leuk modern huisje in een klein dorp. Zeer geschikt voor maximaal 3 personen. In slaapkamer een zeer goed twee persoons bed. In de woonkamer een uitstekend bank/bed die eenvoudig is te bedienen. In de woonkamer een zeer goed geoutilleerde keuken. Daar is o.a. een kleine magnetron en een capsule-koffiezet machine. De badkamer is heeft een moderne douche en een goede wastafel. In de garage staat er een wasmachine ter beschikking. De eigenaren zijn zeer behulpzaam.
Je kijkt vanuit het huisje en een groot terras over het dorp naar de zee. In het dorp is vlakbij de kerk een kleine supermarkt met alle broodnodige dingen. in het dorp zijn meerdere restaurants vooral in de omgeving van het zwembad.
De afstand tot het vliegveld is met de auto ca 15 minuten. Naar Funchal een klein half uur. In de nabije omgeving zijn enkele Levada’s waar je goed kan wandelen. Via de binnenwegen zijn de diverse natuurparken goed bereikbaar. Neem wel een navigatie apparaat mee, daar de wegnummering in het binnenland minimaal is. Wij hebben diverse dagtochten gemaakt zowel naar de zuidkant van het eiland als richting Porto Moniz. De uitdrukking Madeira-Bloemeneiland wordt duidelijk bewaarheid. Vooral de markt in Funchal en de tropische botanische tuin is de moeite waard.

We loved to stay in this brand new and modern bungalow. We were warmly welcomed by Guadalupe and Carlos. Everything is nicely done, well equipped and so comfortable. It is ideally located, just a little not even 5 minutes walk to the sea, bakery, supermarket and the beautiful promenade with the lively restaurants. It immediately felt like our home away from home. Thank you – we will be back!
