Lovely family-run hotel. Lovely cozy lounge and bar for relaxing in the evenings and free, beautiful/newly renovated spa with no booking required from 3pm was exactly what was needed after a day on the slopes. Breakfast was fine and fairly standard for Italy, with some hot options too including sausages, baked beans and scrambled and boiled eggs. Alternative milks and even gluten free bread and biscuits were provided! Breakfast room lovely with views of the mountains. The 'snack bar' (casual restaurant) option was handy for a night in or lunch before departure - sandwiches, pizza/paste and salads. Staff were super helpful, we were able to get our skis waxed and arrange lessons direct through the hotel as the family are all ski instructors themselves! The shuttle bus was frequent enough and worked really well for a door to door service to Spinale and we also discovered that the nearby Patascoss gondola was a good option for coming and going outside of the scheduled shuttle bus times / for a direct route for a Pinzolo day (once you've worked out how to find it through the car park warren). Rooms are normal size for a ski resort and cozy - our double room had a large king size bed (2 singles together) plus day bed which was useful for spreading out ski clothes or could sleep a child; the single room is actually a traditional small double/twin, so very comfortable for a single person or could even fit a couple if they are willing to squish a bit or 2 children sharing perhaps. Overall the location was great, a bit of a shame there's no cut through path down to the main road as you lose time zigzagging but otherwise it's a great location to reach the restaurants of Campiglio Sud (eg Pappagallo) and Palu' (eg Picadilly, Alfiero) as well as only about a 10-15 min walk into the centre of town and Piazza Righi (less to start reaching the shops at the end of the main drag).
Very few things to improve. Our bath/shower was fairly small. The spa (steam room, sauna, pool, jacuzzi and relaxation area) was excellent though some in the group would have liked a warmer jacuzzi (apparently not possible due to italian regulations). It might be an idea to provide flipflops / slippers for the spa. Some of our group would have liked better bread options (brown/wholegrain) at breakfast. But overall a really lovely stay, the family are great and always ready to help and offer advice and get things arranged for you. And with the ski shuttle bus being so convenient, for us the tradeoff of being slightly further out of town in order to get better prices and access to the high-quality spa was well worth it.
