A great place poorly managed

The place was clean, kitchen was decently equipped.

Fiona, the person looking after the property was extremely rude, unhelpful and unwelcoming. There's no service provided. The site mentions a good breakfast provided at the property but what that really means is a loaf of bread, jam, milk and cereal which is hardly a decent breakfast. My partner who's vegan couldn't really eat anything. You're expected to wash your own plates and put everything back as it was which are quite unreasonable expectations for any bed and breakfast and these expectations/instructions are very unclear. Considering the property is quite expensive even for a night, more service and comfort is definitely expected.

There is definitely a wow factor when you first see the premises and they don’t disappoint.

There were four of us and the two cottages were delightful. The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower was great even though a non-slip shower mat would have been appreciated and in hindsight I should have asked how to get the heated towel rails working. The frying pan in the kitchen was missing, however the fresh boiled eggs for breakfast were a treat. Being long distance travellers, we would have really liked to have been able to do some laundry and ironing when we wanted to, but eventually we found a laundrette in the vicinity. In fairness, Fiona offered to get it done for us, but the timing wasn’t right. In spite of my criticisms, I would not hesitate to highly recommend Cambridge Cottages.

Fantastic accommodation

Lovely relaxing stay, everything was perfect. We booked last minute and stayed for one night for a quick getaway. The bed was really comfy. The bread eggs jam were a nice touch and not expected for self catering.

Lovely location and great property.

Great conversion in a beautiful location. The spec of the facilities were great and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely little touches such as bread, milk, cereal etc. books to read and felt like we were at home. We will definitely be back should we stay in Cambridge again thank you.

beautiful place in an easy location, great facilities, only minor issues.

Location was great, took us no longer than 15mins to get to anywhere in Cambridge, the mosque, food places, our punting tour. look of cottage was really comfy, beautiful bathroom. Hot tub was great, easy to use and always clean.

breakfast wasn't as initially thought, its self serve, the basics were left in the breakfast. a lot of the electrical plugs didnt work great, hairdryer and iron would keep turning off when moving. not much lighting in the bedroom, a bit difficult to get ready as almost no light near the mirror. tv remote wouldnt work unless we were within 2/3 feet of the tv.

Accommodation was lovely and was clean, stayed for 3 nights and it was a very short distance to local pubs and food

We really enjoy a nice breakfast when we go on a staycation but we had to do this for ourselves, that wasn't clear before we booked.

It was so hot as the sun shines all evening onto the glass. Maybe even more fans are needed as it was tricky to sleep.

The owner of this cottage was extremely rude to us and completely ruined our wedding day

I stayed at this cottage with my fiancé/husband for our wedding day. The cottage owner, Fiona, completely ruined our wedding day by shouting at us and our guests. Only myself and my fiancé/husband were sleeping at the cottage, as per the rules. We had only 10 guests at our wedding and we planned for them to meet us at the cottage for a few hours in the morning before heading to a Cambridge college to get married. The idea was that the women could do their makeup quickly and everyone could change into their outfits before heading off. No one would be sleeping at the cottage and everyone would have left by 1:30pm. This was not prohibited in the 'House Rules' section for the property. The owner complained that we were not allowed to have our guests meet us at the cottage during the morning. Nowhere had this been advertised. She started shouting at me (the bride) and my husband in front of all of the guests, saying that we were making too much noise and we were not allowed to have anybody else there at all. We were making barely any noise – we had classical music on a low volume, people were talking while they waited and there was no alcohol being consumed. The cottage is 60m2 in the middle of farmland and is not short on space. The owner lives in a very large house opposite the cottage. She didn't care at all that it was our wedding day and displayed an extremely aggressive attitude towards a young couple getting married. Very strangely, she allowed the women to stay but forced the men to leave. After complaining that we were making too much noise, she then started her (extremely loud) tractor lawnmower and mowed the grass around all of the cottages for about an hour. As to the property itself, it gets extremely hot inside for some reason and the bathroom tends to flood because of where the shower divider is placed. Otherwise it's ok.

Lovely stay in a peaceful converted barn, very clean with nice touches to make your stay comfortable

Fabulously chic and beautiful!

The cottage was wonderful. Everything one could need, fabulously chic and practical, with really lovely duvet and pillows too. The hot tub was warm already on arrival, with bread and jam as well as eggs to welcome us in. Such a great rural location too! Fiona was prompt and very helpful with responding as well.

Perfect Peaceful Location

The location was perfect for our visit to Cambridge, not far to drive and a very peaceful location. Lovely views of countryside and sheep. Comfortable bed and nice large shower. All facilities were up to date, have recommended to friends and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Beautful stay

The arrival begins with a beautiful entrance and courtyard. The cottage is small and cosy, but with plenty of room for two people. It's well equipped, and the bed was large and the most comfortable we ever slept in. Overall, the place is a pleasant blend of old barn and modern luxury, a truly stunning place.

Cleanliness was good, but I was expecting more from a place at this price. There was buildup on the shower head that prevented water flow. Also, some of the kitchen pans were scratched.

Lovely place but needs better service

Lovely converted dairy in a beautiful, quiet location. The nutty bread loaf for breakfast was exquisite. The bed was comfortable.

The place is wonderful but unfortunately the service was lacking. The breakfast was limited to butter, milk, jam and bread. The bedroom doesn't have a blackout blind so I woke up at sunrise (around 4.30 am in the summer) every morning. One of the showerheads didn't work. The coffee machine didn't work either.

An absolute delightful experience and relaxing break!

The cottage, the grounds and location were stunning. The quality of the furnishings and decor superb. Every detail and finish high spec and created for absolute comfort. Our host so welcoming and helpful, providing added treats, a lovely surprise. It was an absolute delight to stay there, my only wish was, it had been for a bit longer! We look forward to returning

A relaxing stay in the beautiful 'Old Dairy'

Our stay at The Old Dairy was beautiful, tranquil and we wish we could have stayed longer! We could only stay for the night, but we enjoyed every moment. Our host was responsive and friendly, the cottage itself exceeded expectations with beautiful surroundings & friendly sheep! We would love to book again soon & will be recommending to friends and family!
