Spacious 4 Bed In Cambridge - Garden - Games Room

Property was easy to access, spacious, clean and well maintained, good amenities, we loved the games room and pool table, we were grateful for the on-drive parking for 2 cars, heating, wifi was all functional, communication from the hosts was great

Location good, on a main road but not loud and fairly easy access to Cambridge (10 min drive roughly). Place generally clean and comfortable. No problems accessing the property, walkable distance from some convenience stores and a good Chinese restaurant across the road.

Had quite a bizarre experience with the hosts. Firstly, I was required to sign an external rental agreement (for a two night stay - assume this is for tax avoidance purposes?!) and provide a fairly substantial deposit. This would have been annoying if I'd not had the additional experience of the host company then saying we had broken a table during our stay. I thought fair enough if so, but can I have evidence of the before / after condition so I can validate it was us. This was not provided, only a photo the broken part of the table not visible (the break looked like wear and wear, it was part of a hinge on a fairly well-used coffee table), and no receipts for the new and quite expensive replacement. The host company also took money out of my deposit before we agreed on a settlement - I did say I was open to covering some cost if reasonable evidence was provided but they refused point blank. I ended up having to escalate to Booking.com for adjudication after lots of back and forth, and the decision came out in my favour. I do get these things can happen during stays and hosts shouldn't be badly out of pocket for genuine guest negligence but this wasn't that. It didn't feel legally justifiable and could be seen as arguably fraudulent - I hope it was more naivety / greed than that though. Given the large amount of money I paid for the stay, I'd just want to warn other guests that you may not get a particularly good host experience - seemingly just being treated with suspicion and as a cash cow, as increasing proportions of landlords seem to do these days. Would not recommend.

Beautiful house; bedrooms, showers and practical and stylish kitchen space for 2 cars carefully parked off road - great for blending families. We loved the darts playroom, coop and Sainsburys nearby for essentials and opposite a Chinese Takeaway. Park at Coleridge Recreation Ground is a short walk away with basketball courts, field and a workout area for adults too. Cambs is a short drive away parking is extortionate so maybe walk to the Stn/town if the weather is good. Cambs; Museums & Punting fabulous house is great location and value for money. We definitely would stay here again - pet friendly too for an extra charge.

No faults just suggestions - Heat sensor above the oven could do with moving! It was piercing when it went off. Darts room need a bit of waterproofing it rained heavy when we were there.
