What an amazing stay in Dornie! The cottage is perfect size for our large family of 6, everything is very clean. As American I appreciate having a washer AND a dryer on the property :) We stayed for 5 nights and mostly explored Skye, but on one rainy day we stayed in and relaxed, played games and it was so relaxing. The view is amazing. Definitely recommend!

Perfectly located at the gateway to Skye, the small town of Dornie has two places for dinner, a beautiful trail at the end of the street, and its own personal castle the Eilean Donan. The house itself is put together in a very modern and convenient way, the beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. Quiet and great views all around.Great stay overall.

The house in Dornie far exceeded our expectations. The house is large and lovely, with a great view out the windows on the front of the house. We found the house to be very clean, organised, well outfitted, and located in wonderful surroundings. We especially appreciated the detailed instructions about anything we needed to use in the house (washer, dryer, heating, dishwasher, etc.) Being based in Dornie is a great place when you are planning to explore the Isle of Skye. We definitely recommend walking to The Clachan (about a 5 minute walk from the house). The Clachan is a great pub! We are already talking about visiting Scotland again. We would love to stay in the Dornie cottage again.

We had a great vacation in the cottage. The location is unbelievable--looking out on a quiet loch, yet only minutes from the best castle in the region. The cottage had everything in the kitchen we could need, and the beds were comfortable and cozy. Ian, the host was very helpful in communicating, though we had no problems that needed attention. Ian the host is extremely helpful and communicative. The cottage is perfectly located for the mainland and Skye, and is warm, cosy and well equipped. You could spend a couple of weeks just watching the light change on the loch outside the window.

This property was spotless on arrival. Very spacious and the layout was excellent, entrance area to take off shoes, with a downstairs toilet. This then went into a laundry room then a simply fantastic drying room that did exactly as it said (and very efficiently). The kitchen was large, well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious and the living room was comfortable. It is situated in a quiet, very pretty spot 15 mins walk from Eilean Donan castle. Loads of things to do,we explored Skye quite a bit. I would recommend the boat trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk with Misty Isle boats. We went on the 3 hour trip and it wasnt long enough as the Loch was so beautiful and lots of climbing and walking available. The kids wore waterproof sandals and made the most of them in the crystal clear water! We were blessed with excellent weather too, but even the odd day we stayed in with the plentiful books and games there. Oh, another really good thing. All the "necessities" like toilet roll, kitchen roll, kitchen spray, handwash, bin bags, dishwasher tablets were all provided which was excellent. We loved our stay, it was a home from home and there is nothing bad to say at all. We didnt even really get "midged" which we came prepared for. Thank you Ian for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

Ian’s home was absolutely beautiful with an even better view of the loch. The neighborhood and small village of Dornie were quaint & peaceful with friendly folk. It was an easy drive to The Isle of Skye and nearby towns. If you did not want to travel around, you could be content just strolling the lovely lane along the loch or listen to the sheep calling to their babies or simply enjoying the amazing views outside any of the windows of Ian’s home. I highly recommend this property!!!!

This is a huge house that overlooks a loch. Everything you need for cooking. Comfortable beds and separate washer and dryer. Excellent communication. Couldn't ask for more. Try The Clachan a little pub about a half mile away that has fantastic meals. You will need reservation.

We were delighted with our choice of Bundalloch for our week long stay with a group of 4 adults. Couldn’t have asked for more. The location is superb with views that are stunning even in the rain…and there was a lot of that! Great base for exploring a very beautiful part of Scotland. The spacious property is immaculate and very well appointed. We were very impressed by the comfort and cleanliness. Very much appreciated having 3 toilets 2 showers and a bath! Great selection of games and books and very good wifi…. a bonus on the rainy days! For us it was the perfect location for an overdue reunion with our daughter visiting from Australia and a 90 year old close family friend. Plenty space to chill out and relax but close to some lovely sights. Ian is to be commended as a host! Highly recommend his beautiful property!

We have just enjoyed a fabulous visit to the highlands and Skye, staying in this wonderful cottage. We wanted a cottage that was in easy reach of Skye, which this was, and in a village with amenities - and near a loch! This met all our needs and was beautifully clean, well-equipped, warm and luxurious. We were already planning to come again before we left!

Fourth time here . Feels like our second home. Family meals enjoyed at the table looking out at the loch. Wheelchair accessible with bedroom and shower room downstairs so good. The house is very conveniently located for visits to Kyle of Lochalsh area, Isle of Skye and North-West Highlands. House itself is warm, clean, well equipped and quiet. It was very much like taking our own home with us for a holiday since everything we needed was there, and even more: games, videos, books, etc. 10/10, 5 stars, ticks all boxes, take it and you will have care-free holiday when it comes to your stay.

Really enjoyed our stay in Dornie, cottage was well equipped, comfortable and exactly as described. Particularly liked the open plan kitchen and dining...i think as a family group of 6 we spent most of our time there and it worked very well. Ian (the owner) was very helpful & accommodating. Dornie itself is a good place to be I think, very close to Skye for great days out but also options on the mainland as well weather depending - a central point for that part of the highlands. The only problem really or downside was the midges, bad this year :( It meant leaving any windows open to air / ventilate impossible. Not such an issue on cooler days but on warm days the cottage became pretty stuffy for sleeping. I don't know if midge nets exist for windows (they are pretty small) or how practicable a solution that would be but something like that would have made the stay perfect.

This cottage was even better than we anticipated or had seen online. It is a huge home and was just perfect for the six of us. The location is so beautiful and serene and is a great base for exploring Isle of Skye and the Highlands. We enjoyed lots of walks around there area. The Clachan restaurant nearby was excellent and coffee at the Old School Gallery was spot on! Washing machine and a dryer and drying room were very welcome as we had been on the road for 4 weeks! The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen. Highly recommended and the owner was very easy to deal with.

We have been in many holiday homes, but rarely you find such a clean, well equipped and spatious house. Situated in a peaceful surrouding, with many intersting places to visit within reachable distance. We enjoyed our stay very much, regrettably we couldn't stay longer.
