About this apartment rental

Unique and traditional style 13th century 3 bedroom spacious apartment just next to the Arno and Piazza Santa Croce.

Very quiet and private apartment within the heart of historical Florence; The apartment is located less then 5 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Signoria, and approximately 10/15 minutes walk to the Duomo.

This first floor apartment is on Corso dei Tinori. A lovely and typical street known for its 12th and 13th century history of tinting wool and silk next to the river and the 'Arte dei Tintori'. There are wonderful bars, restaurants, trattorias, gelato shops and typical caffés surrounding this area.

The apartment has been carefully and traditionally renovated, and has air conditioning and heating in every room. It has a quirky and interesting lay out with original beams, stone exposure, original shutters, antique furnishings and original flooring in places. It’s full of character for a unique stay in the heart of historical Florence.

Access to the third bedroom and second bathroom is through a 1.6m beamed study. Living room and second bedroom look out to each other across a courtyard and double French shuttered doors.

Fully functional and equipped modern bathrooms and kitchen and expendable dining space within the living area.

Please note there is no access to an elevator, the apartment is on the first floor up, approximately 20 steps up to access.

PLEASE NOTE CITY TAX IS NOT INCLUDED AND MUST BE PAID ON ARRIVAL. This is a legal requirement. You will receive an email from property manager prior to arrival with details and to arrange check in etc.

Travelling to the apartment:

There is no access to this street with a car during the day, however you can again access between 7:30pm to 7:30am (when green light on only) or of a Saturday. If you wish to stay with a car you can park short stay along the Arno in blue spaces, and pay at meter - though I would only recommend this for short stay as it becomes very expensive after first hour, however it is free there from 8pm to 8am.

The nearest garage is on the Street "Garage Tintori" please look online for rates and to book a space with them.

The house can be accessed at all times on that street by bus or taxi - there is a bus stop on the street which can runs bus service no. 23, direction SORGANE)

Santa Maria Novella train station is approximately 15 minute walk: Directions; once you have walked out of the station, turn right on to Via de' Cerretani and walk until you reach Piazza del Duomo. (You can't miss this Piazza!) Walk along Via del Proconsolo and keep straight on until you reach Via dei Leoni. At the junction with Via de Neri turn left, and proceed over the traffic lights at the crossroads with Via de Benci, keep going straight until you finally reach the Corso dei Tintori, No. 23! If you are unsure weather you have arrived at the right door, you will see 'Connaire' listed as a name on one of the bells.

Vanni met us at check-in and very thoroughly showed and explained everything we needed to know about this wonderful, quirky home. Great location enabling us to have some excellent meals out as well as relax and dine at “home”, and rest in between seeing the sights. Ability to do laundry was a big plus, as was the “cave” bedroom which our teen quickly claimed as his own. Very charming place. 10/10 would recommend and stay again!

The property was charming and mostly what we expected from the listing. Neighborhood was fantastico! And walking distance to all the places we intended to visit. I would suggest an extra quilt or blanket or two, trash bags and toilet paper. Our biggest complaint were the mosquitoes! Our second night in our daughter's room , the small white one with the twin beds ,she insisted she was getting bitten by mosquitoes. It only got worse as the week progressed. My son and daughter were both covered in mosquito bites all over their exposed areas. We could hear them in the master bedroom buzzing in our ears. We couldn't figure out where they were coming from. We never opened the windows to allow fresh air for fear we would allow more mosquitoes in. So both my son and daughter came home with mosquito bites all over their face, their eyelids, their necks, their arms and hands. A bit of a nightmare. We were not warned about the mosquitoes. Our check in host only mentioned not letting the pigeons fly in, but mentioned nothing about the mosquitoes. At first, I thought they may have been a different kind of bug… Fortunately, that was not true , as we all heard them buzzing around our heads at some point throughout the week. If that is an issue, we would've appreciated some warning, and or, supplies to prevent the house having a mosquito infestation. It was a very unfortunate , annoying and gross part of our experience, there were blood stains on the pillows and sheets from getting bitten .
