Historic center of Florence, 5 steps from Piazza della Signoria.

Lovely property, but difficult to find because we did not have a street address. Our taxi driver didn't recognize Cimatori as a street. Knowing there were 66 steps from street level would have made a difference to us in choosing this unit. Moving luggage up that stairway was difficult. Location is exceptionally good.

First, the location is incredible for touring the sites. The Duomo, the galleries, the David, are all very close by, and there are tons of shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars right outside the front door. The location is certainly the best aspect, and the main reason why we would definitely consider returning to this place! Now, the listing says 3rd floor walk up, but the stairs really make it feel like you’re on the 5th or 6th floor, and we’re all in our 30s. Climbing the Duomo somehow seemed easier! I’m only half kidding here. Parking the car was not very clear when we arrived and luckily, we avoided any ZTL fees, but it was confusing. There were only three rolls of toilet paper provided between the two bathrooms, and four guests staying three nights. Not enough! No hand soap either! No paper towels in the kitchen. Basic things like this go a long way when you’re traveling. We had to pick up these supplies at a nearby market. Really appreciated the air conditioning floor units since they act as white noise machines and outside is a very busy street. The light in the kitchen flickers sometimes. Opening the windows let in quite a lot of mosquitos in the month of November. The location is really what sells this place! The price is good, and the place is clean. Maybe not “eat off the floor” clean, but definitely clean enough for us!! All in all, I would recommend this place to my friends and family, and I would probably stay here again.

The photos don't really do this place justice. It's really beautiful inside and the layout is great. 2 bathrooms was nice since we had kids with us. The kitchen had everything needed to cook and everything was no more than a 10 min walk away so location is awesome! Would definitely recommend!

The positives: Owner was great at communication before the stay. She was very flexible with us checking in early and leaving our bags for a few hours after check out. The location is perfect and a short walk to all of Florence’s major sites. It was nice to have two bedrooms plus a study with a pull out couch. The property is very clean and well-stocked. The negatives: There is a very strong smell of sewage coming from the bathrooms. I know that the sewers are quite old in Florence. Some places we stayed in Italy mitigated this with automatic deodorizers. We also had no hot water the entire time we were there which made showering quite unpleasant. I messaged the owner about this and a question about check out. She responded 2 days later answering the check out question but I never got a response regarding the lack of hot water. We are pretty easy going guests traveling through Europe over 5 weeks and these were the most notable negatives we have experienced to date.
