About this cottage rental

Little Puddockwells is a stone built detached cottage which is adjacent to the owner's property. It is furnished to a good standard gun and is very well maintained. The cottage is very cosy with oil fired central heating. There is an open plan kitchen/living room. The kitchen includes the dining area and is fully fitted with a fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and electric cooker. The living room has 2 comfortable sofas with a large TV, DVD player and Freeview.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms which sleeps 3 with plenty of storage available. The bathroom is fitted with a bath, a good shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.

The garden, equipped with comfortable garden furniture, allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet while watching and listening to our local wildlife. The cottage is sheltered from prevailing winds but there are super views from the garden. There is plenty of parking space.

Linen, towels, dish towels, heating and electricity are included in the rates. The cottage is strictly non-smoking and one well behaved pet is welcome. Please note that during high season, bookings are from Saturday to Saturday only.

This was the first stop on our first visit to Scotland and it could not have been better. The cottage, Little Pudockwells, is nicely renovated stone cottage situated on a farm a few miles outside the village of Dunkeld. After walking some of the many woodland trails in the area and dining in Dunkeld it was great to retreat to our quiet cottage and listen to the birds sing.

The accommodation was superb:- the cottage was spotless and there everything you needed for a five day stay or even longer. The setting was delightful from the squirrels to the pheasants strolling through the garden. The owners were great: helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely recommend this stay to others and hopefully we will go back. Thanks to the Cox family

We had a wonderful stay at Little Puddockwells Cottage which had all the amenities needed to the week. Owner super helpful and easily contactable. Immediate surroundings perfect for walking our dog. We can see why Dunkeld has been voted the best town in Scotland to live. The Taybank pub serves excellent food with a large dinning room upstairs and small cosy pub (often with live fiddle and accordion music) downstairs. Dogs are most welcome. They also have a large beer garden leading down to the Tay. Aran Bakery also a must visit. Stay at Puddockwells and you won’t regret it!

Excellent communication with the owners prior to arrival meant check in was seamless (be aware that if you arrive in the dark the house signage isn’t easy to read). The cottage is warm and comfortable with everything you would need for a home from home self catering holiday. The cottage is placed at the end of an unmade up road and was so quiet (perfect for our reactionary rescue dog). It would have helped if a small section of the outside area was fenced off to let our dog out off lead. In the summer views from the outside of the cottage must be wonderful but in the winter there is less to see from inside the cottage. Our only other request would be for some more floor protection and hooks for wet and muddy boots and waterproof clothing. All in all a good value cottage and one we would use again.

The secluded location was perfect for a get-away-from-it-all. If we forgot anything we were only a few minutes from local shops and restaurants. We felt very comfortable with the layout of everything, the cleanliness and the facilities. While we were there, we saw red squirrels, a cuckoo, and deer. It was great to sit in the garden, with a wine, and have peace and quiet of the countryside. It was a safe place for our dog to roam free. Only a few minutes from the A9, it's a great central location with access to Perth, all places north and west.

I was meeting friends for a stay in Scotland. The were happy with a dog friendly town hotel as they live in Toronto. I and my dog come from rural wilts. My dog would never cope in a town. This was ideal. Close to my friends. Private, quiet, good dog walking and very comfortable. Loved it.

We had a thoroughly restful and enjoyable time in this attractive cottage in the woods. What a wonderful location! The cottage is extremely comfortable and very well equipped. In fact, everything that you may need during your stay. A very friendly welcome from Andrea. We felt like we were in a home from home. A great base for days-out and walks from the door. We have just returned from our week's stay at Little Puddockswell Cottage. The cottage was situated in a beautiful area with Dunkeld and Blairgowrie not to far away. We were met by Andrea who was a really lovely host. The cottage was so well equipped with everything you needed, it also had its own resident squirrels which my son and grandson loved to watch eating the nuts every morning and evening. We had such a wonderful stay and will definitely book to stay again in the near future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week of holiday at Little Puddockwells! The cottage has everything we needed including plenty of storage space, good WiFi and an excellent hot shower! We loved watching the red squirrels when they came for their nut snack in the garden and we even saw a hedgehog in the lawn just outside the cottage. The location is fantastic, tucked away from any busyness and the perfect starting place for our family activities like forest walks, canoeing and swimming in nearby lakes and rivers. The owners are very friendly and sorted out an issue with the fridge within a hour or so. We highly recommend this cottage and will surely come back.

This was our first visit to the area for many years having previously stayed in Pitlochry. As we particularly wanted self catering the nearness of restaurants, pubs etc wasn't relevant to us but had we chosen to eat out Dunkeld is only a short drive away and has plenty of choice. We chose the area for cycling and walking in particular and weren't disappointed. We would stay here gain if re-visiting the area in the future.

We had a great holiday at Little Puddockwells (the name itself was enough to come for!) and particularly loved the wildlife that came past our doorstep including a doe with her fawn, a hare and a red squirrel. It was very peaceful and although the weather was mixed it was never a problem. We really enjoyed being so close to Loch of the Lowes wildlife reserve and after an initial visit during the day, spent most of our evenings and a very beautiful early morning there watching the ospreys, red squirrels and beavers. The smoked salmon from Dunkeld was utterly delicious and we enjoyed other lovely coffees and lunches in Dunkeld. Thank you for a very lovely time in a very beautiful place!

We had lovey time staying here. We got a friendly welcome from the owners, we did not need to contact them as the cottage is well equipped. The garden was nice and leads into a good walk. The kids loved it, we had deer come close to the cottage a couple of times, they also liked to spot birds of prey, red squirrels etc. It is a great location to explore all the wonderful sights, and great walks. We would definitely recommend the cottage and stay here again if we are in the area. Many thanks
