Posada San Sebastian

Beautiful old building in a fantastic location. The room is huge and the bed was comfortable. The view from the upstairs patio is just gorgeous!

The lock on our door was broken, and someone was smoking in the courtyard which made the room smell quite a lot.

I loved the free drinking water, friendly staff, and amazing location. The staff let us change and reorganize our bags after we had checked out and stored them for an excursion.

Location is excellent and easy to walk to the main sites as well as many great restaurants. Large room. Terrace offers 360 view of mountains/volcanoes. They allowed us to check in early (10:30am) and check out at 12:30pm. Quiet during the night. We chose it for flexibility of checkin and checkout since we weren't sure about our luggage if we had rented an Airbnb. The price for a large room with 2 beds was in our budget.

The large room got quite hot and stuffy and is equipped with one fan in late May; I requested another fan, considering many rooms unoccupied but the staff said no. When we opened the window to allow for circulation, it can be accessed outside from the side of the main hall and anyone could climb in if they wanted to. You are given 3 keys - a key to PADLOCK your room, a key to enter building, and another key to enter lobby. If you wanted an extra set for your travel mate, you are out of luck. The floor had not been mopped in a while since when we walked around barefoot, our soles were dark. There is an eerie vibe, since there is lots of old antiques but instead of a minimalist feel with a chosen selection, it is bombarded with items. Staff - limited availability (after 6pm, no one at front desk). Construction was happening on first floor but it didn't impact our stay since we were on the 2nd floor. Besides the courtyard, many areas of the posada were very dark and limited lighting. And with a previous review which mentioned haunted feeling, yup.
