About this house rental
The farmhouse has been modernised to a high standard to make it comfortable for guests whilst maintaining its original character. It sits adjacent to the owners' main house, a converted barn. It benefits from a modern fitted kitchen, log burner, satellite TV, DVD and Wi-Fi. Both bathrooms have baths, heated towel rails and the one downstairs has a thermostatically controlled shower. There is private parking for 2 cars adjacent to the cottage. Guests have their own entrance through the garden behind the cottage, where there is a patio with tables and chairs, a BBQ and loungers, umbrellas and outdoor sofa for comfortable alfresco living and dining. Included is the use of the owners’ pool which has lovely views and a large terrace with sun beds and umbrellas. The cottage benefits from facing east to make the most of the morning and evening sun, while keeping it cool through the day. With Summers becoming warmer there are also fans available if needed and an efficient mobile air conditioner upstairs. The farmhouse is the perfect starting point for walks or cycle trips through the quiet local lanes to nearby medieval villages. Sainte-Sabine, only a few minutes away by car, has a bakery, post-office and several restaurants, including La Gentilhommière. The cottage is ideally situated for those wanting to enjoy the beauty of the French countryside while being within driving distance of the Dordogne and Vézère valleys, where you can see everything from splendid chateaux to the world-famous cave paintings at Lascaux. For the more energetic, there is kayaking on the Dordogne which we can highly recommend! The wine tours of Bergerac and the town itself (30 minutes away) are well worth a visit as are the local Bastide villages with their shops, restaurants, bars and wonderful weekly markets and summer food festivals.
Bordeaux and Toulouse are both within a 2 hour car journey.

We’ve just come back from an amazing stay. The farmhouse is full of character and well equipped with everything we needed. The pool area is beautiful with a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside and gardens. Our host Tanya was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, thankyou Tanya. A real home from home. A generous starter hamper was a welcome surprise when we got there. All in all a very enjoyable holiday and a place that we are looking forward to going back to.

Tanya and our family gave us a warm welcome and a wonderful holiday around the pool. Tanya’s property is in a beautiful rural spot, perfectly located for exploring the local area. We’d highly recommend this rental to other travellers

tanya is an excellent host, we were lucky with the weather.
house was well equiped, the new aircon in the second floor bedroom most welcome.
bbq in the garden was very nice in the evenings.

"We have had a wonderful two weeks staying at this beautiful house. We loved the fantastic swimming pool, beautiful gardens and so many various seating areas to suit temperature and time of day. Inside is also lovely with lots of welcoming and useful touches as well as being comfortable and very attractive. Tanya, Tim and family, plus pets, were so friendly, polite and helpful and everything was easy and relaxing. We loved the beautiful bastide towns and found plenty of things to do and places to visit.We would have no hesitation to recommend this cottage - one of the best we have stayed in"
