About this house rental
country house just renovated, quiet, isolated on the edge of a small river "dropt" with a park of 2000 m2, its private swimming pool 8x4, located between the bastides of Villeréal and Monpazier. The cottage is composed of a living room with its kitchen, 3 bedrooms (2 beds in 160 and 2 beds in 90), a bathroom with walk-in shower and a storeroom. The living room is equipped with a convertible sofa, television, central island, oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer ..... Near the Dordogne, you can visit our beautiful region, taste our specialties. Fishing and hunting are possible nearby

Very nice gite with a lovely pool. However it was not clear on the booking that we had to provide towels and bedding. By the time we were contacted to ask if we wanted to hire them we had left home. Don't expect to provide bedding when we hire a gite.

Stayed for 5 nights in June and had a great time. The property is of high quality and not overlooked. The pool is perfect for cooling off. Needed to keep windows closed to stop flys but fans provided in bedrooms. Could have done with some simple directions as our Sat Nav and Google searches didn’t get us to the property so we wasted 45 mins driving around. Other than that hosts were easy to deal with and we appreciated the welcome pack of eggs and cake.

The house is beautiful and well equipped. The photos don't do it justice. Denis wife was very friendly when we checked in and baked us a lovely strawberry tart. The pool is amazing too.

The property was pretty much as described but for us had one major drawback. It does not have air conditioning, which would not ordinarily be a problem, but you cannot sleep with the windows open because there are plenty of mosquitoes and no screens. There was one fan but three rooms and we found it very stuffy and hard to sleep. Our only other criticism would be the welcome pack, sure nothing was promised but just a bottle of cold drinking water would have been handy (there were six eggs, some prunes, quarter of a roll of loo paper). On the plus side Denis is very nice, location is excellent, a very tranquil spot.
