About this house rental
Athena Villa is private holiday rental villa with private swimming pool. The villa consists of 3 bedrooms with 3 ensuite bathrooms and a kitchen fully equipped. 1 bedroom is located on the ground floor and 2 of them are located on the top floor. On the ground floor there is a terrace with direct access to the swimming pool. On the top floor there is a balcony with spectacular views to the horizon. There is a wooden roof on the top floor and all the house is covered with marble floors. The bathrooms are covered with marble floors and walls. All bathrooms have a shower. A BBQ, sun beds and sun umbrellas are available too. A fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor with 4 ring stove, fridge,freezer, coffee maker, kettle, a toaster and a dishwasher. A lounge and a fire place is located next to the kitchen. Satellite TV and a DVD player can be found in the sitting room. Mobile internet is available after request. In each room is air-conditioned. Can be accommodated from 4 to 6 people.

No directions via email were given to us but we managed to find the property. The name of the Villa wasn’t displayed so we didn’t know which one it was. The key doesn’t fit the front door properly and the owner was on in contactable so it was all a bit of a fraught start.
Spoke to the owner two days later, who said that I had her landline number and not her mobile. Hence she didn’t reply when we couldn’t get into the property.
Villa is on a very steep slope and any cars with small engines, can’t get up it. We got stuck and the next vehicle after us did as well.
No light bulbs in the downstairs en-suite. Nice property but tired.
Google maps says the villa is nearer to the town when you go on it via your site.
Wi-Fi was dreadful. My husband had to work daily and for two days we had nothing. Not brilliant.

Très agréable maison située à 5 minutes à pied d'une grande plage de sable déserte et à quelques minutes en voiture du port de Makry Gialos où l'on trouve l'essentiel.
Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le calme de l'emplacement, le paysage superbe de la côte Sud de la Crète, la présence d'une salle de bain dans chaque chambre, la climatisation dans chaque pièce et un ensemble terrasse, piscine, barbecue très agréable.
Excellent accueil et disponibilité de la propriétaire. A noter, le ménage fait en milieu de séjour avec remplacement des draps et serviettes de toilette.
S'il fallait un bémol : cela manque un peu de vaisselle et de casseroles si l'on veut cuisiner.
Bref, que du positif, nous recommandons.

Die Lage der Villa ist toll. Man läuft nur wenige Minuten zum Strand und hat einen tollen Blick aufs Meer . Man braucht aber auf jeden Fall ein Auto , um in den Ort zu kommen. Wenn man das Auto mal stehen lassen möchte, kostet eine Taxifahrt zur Villa zurück nur 10€.
Die Vermieterin ist sehr hilfsbereit. Wenn es ein Problem gab, hat sie es zeitnah gelöst.
Die Küche könnte noch ein bisschen besser ausgestattet sein, mehr Besteck und ein Grillbesteck wäre schön.
Ein kleiner Tipp: wer einen leichten Schlaf hat und gerne mit offenem Fenster schläft, sollte Gehörschutz mitnehmen, da die Hunde in der Nähe viel Bellen und es auch ein quietschendes Geräusch gab.
Ansonsten hat uns die Woche in der Villa auf Kreta sehr gut gefallen.

La maison est plus petite qu'indiquée dans l'annonce (environ 120 m²), l'équipement n'est pas suffisant pour 6 personnes (cuisine, vaisselle, chaises pour les tables exterieures...)et l'équipement vidéo/internet n'est pas non plus conforme (pas de wifi, vieux et petit téléviseur). Nous avons attendu la maison jusqu'à 15h30 et le premier accueil n'a pas été agréable. Bref, trop cher pour les prestations données.
