Neukölln is a very unpleasant area. I travelled there just because it was close to the congress I was attending. There are many much nicer areas in the West and North of Berlin.
I was living on the 4th floor. The plate on the door had been stolen and there was no sign in the entrance about a 4th floor. Took me a long time to find the right door.

Very comfortable stay in the apartment. They modernized it while still keeping the charm of the older decor.
The neighborhood was covered in trash and graffiti. It projected a feeling of unsafeness.
