Villa Stone-Exceptional private Estate

Beautiful villa with great history of restoration. The owner (Miho) is a great guy who really cares about his guests and making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The pool is great, villa is very clean, kitchen is well equipped.

It was not clear to me upon booking that one room/studio is somewhat separate from the rest of the villa (separate entrance one level below main living room/kitchen) but turned out part of our group even preferred such setup.

We cannot fault Villa Stone nor Miho (owner host). The villa was impeccably restored with everything you’d need to have a very comfortable stay. The pool area is superb and if you had smaller children there is plenty for them to do such as trampoline, slide, bikes, table tennis etc. There are loads of quirky nooks and cranny’s around the place (but I won’t spoil it as you need to see them for yourself). The kitchen is well equipped with oven, microwave, big fridge/freezer and dishwasher. And there is a big TV in the lounge area. We were a mixed age group of 6 people (15 - 80 yo) and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The views over looking Srebreno bay are stunning and are a real time waster just watching the boats coming in and out. There are plenty of sun beds and umbrellas around the pool along with a sizeable BBQ which we used a couple of times. We would 100% recommend villa stone and are already talking about coming back. There is an annexe part to the villa with a bedroom, bathroom and living space with a small kitchen - this was perfect for the grandparents to have a bit of their own space. The remaining 3 bedrooms are double/ twin with en- suite which is a bonus. Miho is a fabulous host and is rightly very proud of his villa which he restored from a derelict shell 10 years ago. He made us feel like old friends and nothing was too much trouble (Miho is happy to arrange transportation to and from the airport if needed which is 15 mins away) and he is available if you have any queries or advice on trips, what to do etc. All in all a wonderful time was had by all.

The villa is approx 140m above sea level on some very narrow and windy roads so you have to have your wits about you if you’re driving (but you do get used to it). The villa has amazing views but this means there are a fair numbers of steps up to main area of the house. This wasn’t a problem for us but it’s a consideration if you had less able bodied people. There’s some local wildlife about namely a few very tame cats - not an issue for us but if you don’t like cats then don’t encourage them by feeding them but I think many guests do.

We had the best time at Villa Stone. The host Miho met us on arrival and was so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. He even drove us to the local supermarket on our first day, which we were so thankful for. The villa itself is absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of Mlini and has everything you could possibly need to make your stay a home from home experience. We were a group of 6 including 2 little ones who had the best time and did not want to leave. There were lots of lovely little extras to keep them entertained such as; a slide, trampoline and of ofcourse the wonderful swimming pool that we all made use of 😃 Thankyou Miho for a wonderful stay!

There is nothing that could be improved, it was lovely! Just a note, the hill is quite steep to Mlini, however Miho has a welcome pack in the villa with taxi information and Ubers are so easy and cheap should the walk back up be too much for you.

Villa Stone is in a secluded location with amazing views. The pool is a good size and checked daily. Miho is an excellent owner / host who makes every effort to ensure that his guests are happy and comfortable. A perfect choice for a Croatian holiday, with easy access to Dubrovnik, various islands, Bosnia and Montenegro.

No negative points.

Villa Stone is a beautiful property situated on a hillside overlooking a local bay. The view of the local village is amazing and stretches all the way to Konavle in the south. The position means that the property is soaked in the sun the whole day all the while a fresh breeze keeps you cool. The stone villa was built from an old traditional farmhouse giving it a lot of character, the pool area almost carved out of a rocky hillside, with an amazing terrace, grill area, play lawn and a large parking area underneath. The house bears all the modern amenities and is fully furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay - open kitchen including a selection of nice local wines the owner sells at a reasonable cost, flat screen TV, sound system, aircos throughout, bathroom connected to every room. The property is very family friendly and the owner has furnished a lot of toys and games for kids/families to play with - the property includes sizeable lawn area with fantastic views where kids spent a lot of time playing football, jumping on the trampoline, playing throw and catch games and where we worked out. There are no other houses in immediate vicinity which means quiet and privacy. Enjoyable walks/hikes throughout the area are also a must given tucked in churches, olive groves and mediterranean vegetation. Besides a well groomed garden, the property is made even more enjoyable by sightings of turtles, visits from “Tom” - the local cat who kept us company on the terrace, and trips to a little natural cave the owner has furnished with historical artifacts. We rented a car while there which came in quite handy to visit Dubrovnik/area or go to the large shopping center in the village - alternative is to walk down the hill into the village center (10-15min) where you can eat at restaurants/cafes and can also catch a bus to Dubrovnik. The owner is a fantastic host.
