The property is very tranquil and is within 5 minutes to the local nature reserve and 15 minutes to the beach at Labenne Ocean. The gardens are nicely maintained and have a number of fruit trees and the pool is clean and well maintained. The property is in the traditional french style and has a number of quirky features from the previous travels of the landlord Helene. Helene is close by and very hospitable if there are specifics that you need. The towns of Hossegor and Capbreton are a 20 minute drive and provide good shopping and excellent edditional beaches.
Things to note:
1. You will need a car (although cycling is very popular)
2. The broadband and Wifi is very good
3. The local beaches have excellent surf but strong tides and not ideal for very small children. The are well lifegaurded.
4. The local Basque festivals at the end of July are nice to see and really well participated by the locals.
In summary - very relaxing with great amenities within a short drive. The only thing that prevented me giving it 5 stars was that the kitchen was not modern but it had everthing we needed.
