Easy-going homy stay, perfect escape from the city rush

A place with history, with caring and very welcoming hosts. Location is on the river, nice garden with lounge chairs as well as picnic areas near by. Perfect for both, hiking (the routes start next to the door) and chilling. It is not just B&B, it is an experience of the local culture. Breakfast was served with home made and local products.

It was a great experience staying at this unique and charming castle-like old house built in 1688.

We loved the hosts who were very friendly and accommodating. They recommended us to check out the famous cave nearby and it was a hidden jam which blew our minds.

Beautiful nature, awkward and uncomfortable stay

The location was great, beautiful nature

We arrived at the B&B at 16.30 hours, although the room was ready we were told a couple of times that we were not supposed to arrive before 17.00 hours. Did not feel like a warm welcome. At the booking.com site was mentioned that you could pay by card, but after booking the place we received a message from the owner that only cash was excepted. We found it very awkward to have to get cash at an ATM to pay for our stay, but the owner told us this is how it is being done for the last 20 years. The room was spacious, but the beds were so soft it was like sleeping in a hammock, and the shower was in a bathtub without any shower curtain or a shower head hanger. So you had to shower holding the shower head trying to avoid making the whole bathroom wet. The room door could not be locked, none of the rooms could be locked and the owner mentioned that they also don’t lock their own door and never experienced issues. Breakfast was at one big table together with the other guests which felt a bit tight, you were told which chairs you could take and the owners were eating their breakfast at the same time as the guests. You could order 1 egg, boiled or fried. There was no fruit presented, only after mentioning this I could get an Apple. If you have celiac desease (gluten intolerance) there is not much to eat at breakfast, no gluten-free bread and the bread toppings in jars, or the butter has to be taken with the knife used to spread it on your bread, so cross contamination is unavoidable.

Excellent getaway location!

I loved our stay and so did my partner. The B&B is beautiful - the garden, the rooms, the common room. The common room is very well stuffed, it has coffee and tea available, local beers for small fee. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and every rich. The house itself is warm and cozy, the double room faces a garden, which is a wonderful view in the morning. There is a restaurant in a 7 min walk distance, various walking options in the area for brisk morning exercise. Just absolutely perfect!

Staying in the Moulin de Resteigne is a wonderful experience

The location of the house/farm is very beautiful with a large romantic garden and a bridge crossing the river. It is a histroric building with a working watermill but generating now its own electricity.

The bed was not so comfortable but we prefer very soft matrasses.

Le lieu est paradisiaque, au bord de la Lesse où j'ai même pu nager. Accueil des hôtes très chaleureux et sympathique. Vue sur le jardin et la Lesse, de ma chambre, bien agréable. Délicieux repas du soir avec les hôtes et petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Dans la maison: petite chienne très amicale

Très personnel : j'aime moins quand la salle de bain et le WC sont séparés de la chambre. Toutefois la chambre est bien isolée des autres. Et peut-être que c'est précisé dans la description ( ne sais plus). Tarif parfait quand on est 2, un peu cher quand on est seule ... éternel problème du voyageur solo.

We hebben het prima naar onze zin gehad in deze B en B.

Het gebouw is uit 1688 en een prachtige oude boerderij van de familie. Er is een prachtige tuin met ligstoelen waarop je kunt relaxen of lekker lezen. Het ligt meteen aan de Lesse dit met een watervalletje lang de B en B loopt. Ook zit op de kop van de boerderij een groot waterrad waarmee energie opgewekt wordt. Kwa geluid heb je daar totaal geen last van als je op je kamer bent. Jagen is in deze familie heel gewoon en dat blijkt meteen als je de gemeenschappelijke relax ruimte inkomt. De wanden hangen vol met geweien van herten en tanden van zwijnen. Dat is wel even wennen als je dat ziet maar ja, jagen is gebruikelijk in deze streek. Het ontbijt is prima en je eet gezamenlijk met eventuele andere gasten en dat is wel zo gezellig. Handig als je Frans op niveau is, dat wel maar Engels gaat ook en Nederlands. Je kunt zelf lekkere koffie of thee nemen zonder extra kosten, ook wel lekker! Fietsen kunnen achter een gesloten deur worden geplaatst maar opladen doe je op je kamer.

Het enige wat ons een beetje tegenviel waren helaas de bedden. Op zich hebben we best aardig geslapen maar een paar betere bedden en ook kussens zou fijn zijn. Het zijn duidelijk oudere binnenvering matrassen op vrij lage onderboxen en ik weet natuurlijk niet of de meeste gasten al wat ouder zijn maar hoger slapen en wat steviger zou wel heel fijn zijn. Oh ja, je kunt alleen cash betalen, dat vonden we wat ouderwets vooral omdat op booking staat dat er met iedere credit card betaald kan worden, dat klopt dus niet!

-accueil de la propriétaire froid et distant -salle de bain très vieillotte, -matelas mous et qui mériteraient d’être changés -prises de courants obsolètes et même dangereuses! Vous êtes sûrs que c’est aux normes de sécurité dans un vieux bâtiment ???

de historische context van de locatie, in het bijzonder de molen die aan het huis verbonden is. Je kan er ongehinderd wandelen en rusten.

Jammer dat er een drukke verkeersweg wat verderop ligt, maar door de waterkracht rondom weinig of geen last van gehad
