The room was as advertised: very spacious, thoughtfully done up, generally clean. The lighting is lovely. The bathroom was clean and large too. Well-stocked fridge, tea/coffee things and a working flat-screen TV. Very helpful and welcoming staff. The breakfast wasn't bad.
The lift doesn't work. One has to climb to the 2nd floor through a poorly kept and dingy staircase. Atmospheric for sure, but not a great experience at all hours of the day. That really took away from the experience. The beds and towels should have been more carefully cleaned. I would've liked a firmer mattress.

The place offers plenty of space, three dimensional, I mean, speaking literally! The open wide corridor with high ceiling is so majestic. Also the dining space. The toilet is exquisite! Also, I shall be failing in my duties if I don't mention about Gopal jee and Mandal jee, so ever co-operative, like true family members.
Of course the lift, though the property is not directly at fault!

Loved how the property was secluded and intimate. It gave a glimpse into the history of Calcutta while being super comfortable. The staff were courteous and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was very good and tasty and the cook made foods to our request. I highly recommend the stay!
The lift was a bit unsafe.

The location. The large room and high ceilings
Was so so clean. Breakfast was quite poor on choice. The cook did his best to accomodate me with little choice.
