Breakfast is good Location needs more improvement

Location and entrance needs more attention

I recently stayed at Aster Guest House for three nights and overall had a comfortable experience, with a few areas that could use improvement. On the positive side, the staff were warm, helpful, and genuinely courteous throughout the stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-kept, and the bathrooms are equally large and tidy. The interiors are nicely done and clearly reflect the owner’s care and attention to detail, which adds a homely, welcoming feel. The lighting is well planned, making the space feel bright and cheerful. A big Android TV with apps already installed was a nice touch. Essentials like AC, geyser, and lift were all in good working condition. The location is definitely a big plus — very close to Park Street, Camac Street, and within easy walking distance of the US Consulate.

On the flip side, the property is on the second floor of an old building that hasn’t been maintained very well. The surrounding area is a typical busy market zone, and unfortunately cleanliness isn’t a priority there — there’s often a lingering smell of garbage and urine. While this is beyond the control of the guest house owner, it does impact the overall first impression. Breakfast is served in the room, which is convenient. The simple bread, butter, omelette breakfast is freshly prepared in the small in-house kitchen and options are limited. The bedding and bed linens could do with an upgrade. Another drawback is the lack of a designated parking space, even for a single car to pick up or wait for guests, which can be inconvenient in such a busy area. But of course, it was already mentioned. One concern worth mentioning — after booking through Booking.com, I received multiple emails and WhatsApp messages from at least four different IDs asking for card details for advance payment. This feels like a possible security gap somewhere in the booking process, and future guests should stay alert and paying anything through any link may contact the property directly which I did . To summarise, a comfortable stay thanks to the staff, thoughtful interiors, and excellent location — with a few practical improvements that could make it even better.

Only favourable was that it's near to US consulate.

Very dirty approach road. Shabby premises. Lift making cranking sound. Facilities weren't up to expectations. Photos displayed on web are excellent. When you locate the property you are in dilemma what to do, whether to occupy or skip.
