The Grand Hotel

It was in a location we needed and included car parking. The breakfast was excellent.

We were in the “Annex” which is partly my fault for not reading the description of the room properly. But the receptionist who booked us in when we arrived was rather dismissive of us and not really interested in our requirements and was more interested in trying to book us i to the restaurant that evening. The room had a floor mounted heater that was noisy and one of the main ceiling LED lights was out so the room wasn’t very bright. For my wife the dressing room mirror was too high so she had to stand up to see what she was doing. The bathroom was clean but cold and the shower was a walk in type that splashed water everywhere as the screen was very short so water escaped everywhere.

The hotel was beautiful and elegant throughout, spotlessly clean in all areas. Reception and staff in all areas were very welcoming, polite yet professional. Large bedroom with comfortable bed and all the amenities you would expect for a comfortable stay. Huge well lit bathroom with a walk in double shower and separate toilet. fluffy towels with Molton Brown toiletries. Breakfast was superb, and served to your table which was a nice change from buffet breakfast!

I would have liked more choice of Rose’ wines, there was only a choice of 2 and unfortunately both were too dry for my taste. The restaurant/bar was really nice, however, although you could just order drinks every table was set for diners so there wasn’t a bar lounge atmosphere. You could take your drinks to one of the other lounges if you preferred? The bedroom was very well equipped with dressing table, mirror & sockets , but the room was a little too dark for applying make up so had to do this chore haha in the bathroom where it was much brighter. But the above is only my opinion and I still give this hotel a 10/10 and also believe it should be rated 5* not 4*

We didn’t like Grand 22 and transferred to the Grand Hotel after one night’s stay. We had to walk out into the wintry weather to go for breakfast to the Grand!

As above. We felt isolated and not part of the grand Hotel at al. We wouldn’t have booked it had we know our stay was t at the Grand Hotel where we’ve stayed y times over the years.

Having to wait to long time for breakfast to be told someone had dismissed it and if I hadn’t complained we would have been left sat there. Not very professional there was no apologies just oh we will start to make it then! We had to decline because of the time we have to leave and being unsure when we would get the food. For the price they charge to not get anything is not a place I would want to stay again.

Hotel was lovely, rooms big and well appointed. Breakfast great and staff n miorning were execellent.

Dinner reservation was late and the service for drinks in the lounge was very slow. Need someone to monitor this area more.

Having stayed at The Grand many times over the years (booked in my sisters name Phaff ) when booking for 6 people we were only given the option of The Annex Grand 22 whilst we knew this wasn’t in the same building we expected the level of comfort & warmth & class & elegance that The Grand has to offer . Although rooms very nice & massive beds Grand 22 is a totally different vibe no warmth but bright white decor neon blue lights mis matched furniture & a pool table more like entering a hostel not entirely sure how this is linked to The Grand . Skip outside & builders on site apparently sorting repairs after storm Amy. For the reduced level of comfort you would expect a reduced level of price but we still paid £170’each per room so not cheap . Obviously we could use the facilities in The Grand but this entails walking over the road so not ideal when using the pool etc . It was booked as a special occasion for my mums 93rd birthday who also visited on many other happy trips but sadly passed away before the trip & would have been very disappointed to be booked into Grand 22 .Our feedback was provided to the receptionist who was very lovely but more or less said we’d been given what we booked. We still had a lovely 2 night stay & used The Grand restaurant & bar ( very slow service only 1 staff on ) beautiful quality breakfast & seating areas but overall very shocked & disappointed with Grand 22 & wouldn’t stay here again .Bear this in mind when booking that the 2 have very different vibes if you’re looking for comfort class & elegance don’t stay at Grand 22 i would say more suitable for a hen party vibe

Lovely hotel. Lovely staff. We had an overnight stay in a Superior room, which was lovely. Location is good; about a 10 mi walk from the Lytham St Anne’s town centre. A very reasonable amount of parking is available.

The Breakfast was hood and the staff friendly

The room was cold and the bathroom freezing. The room heating via an air conditioner was hard to use and not very effective no instructions were provided The bathroom was freezing the floor as cold as ice. The room had seen better days and was old and worn out

Beautiful building, nice modern decor. Excellent check in and check out by reception staff - so helpful & polite. Very comfortable beds, quiet at night, great location. Superb food well presented - excellent chefs. Nice gym area and spa had lovely seating space with glass doors to outside space - lovely & clean. Easy parking.

Service at breakfast unfriendly at times. Concerted effort not to return to tables to check on whether any else was required. Decided on day 2 to order whole breakfast request in one go as it was easier than trying to gain the attention of a server. So many servers seemed strange in a hotel of this calibre that service wasn’t better. 1 of 2 rooms were not serviced after 1st night. No Cross-trainer in gym. Changing area of spa would benefit from a swimwear dryer - very useful.

Super facilities and views. Very clean.

Rooms had no air con at a superior room rate and were 27 degrees at night so very uncomfortable.

Location, service, food and staff

The restaurant was amazing, beautiful food at dinner and breakfast. Enjoyed the pool area and the outside area looked lovely. The extra large bed was very comfortable.

We had a room in the Annex, we knew that from the booking, however at check in we were not told it was an accessible room, on hindsight I would have asked for an alternative. The bathroom sink was really low and not so easy to use, the toilet high and the mirror was not over the sink for shaving. however this did not ruin the stay, we got used to it

Staff excellent especially June on reception. Welcomed on arrival given advice on room(which was invaluable) Fantastic breakfast great swimming pool. Fabulous room with sea view and air con. Thoroughly enjoyed stay would not hesitate to recommend

Overnight stay was expensive but one of the best hotels we have stayed at in the UK.

Loved the restaurant in the main hotel. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was delicious.

Didn't like not being in the main hotel. Felt there would be no help if needed as rooms not manned. No kettle in room just coffee machine. How do you make a cup of tea with a coffee machine? Hall light coming under bedroom door, had to put a bedcover there to block it out. No phone in room to get reception quickly.

Everything was perfect staff friendly and helpful. Wonderful experience from start to finish we would highly recommended and carnt wait to return.

Being disabled when we booked we thought being in an Annexe that would be adjoining the hotel but it was a block and half away across a road .. No bar or refreshments Rooms although clean were impersonal and clinical Coffee machine not working if we would have known we would have been so far from hotel we wouldn't have booked it. Also sink too low no mirror above sink for men shaving.
