Exceptional stay at The Cuan

We stayed at The Cuan with our dog over Valentine's weekend and we loved every second of it. The hotel is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bar/restaurant is a really pleasant place to sit and the food is exceptional. Our room was nice and warm with a comfortable bed and plenty of space for us and our dog. Every one of the staff were incredibly friendly from reception to bar and restaurant staff. It's the perfect place to stay if you have a pet. They just don't tolerate dogs, they are fully dog friendly and will even bring them some water, and give them sausages at breakfast time! She was spoilt rotten. We also really love the area. There's plenty to do and see. We will definitely be back.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean and the bed was very comfortable

It is essentially a restaurant with rooms there is nowhere quiet to relax other than the very busy food serving area - it is overpriced as such - from the website it suggests it is more like a boutique hotel - the breakfast was just average quality and the server would not give us peace to eat it when it was set down with too much chat. Sorry to say we were very disappointed

I love the Cuan Hotel in Strangford. I wish I had booked to stay longer!

I love the Cuan Boutique Hotel in Strangford. It is beautifully renovated with lovely decor. The room was lovely with the softest mattress and very quiet. The meals are just so delicious and the staff are wonderful. Besides all being friendly, helpful and happy they are great communicators before my arrival. Free parking out the front and nearly next door to the car ferry to Portaferry. So convenient.

Comfortable place to stay, with excellent service from the staff.

Breakfasts are very good, the beds very comfortable and the service from the staff was exceptional. The location is in the centre of the village, easy for walking around or taking the ferry over the lough. It was quiet and relaxing location. The food in the restaurant is good too.

The only tiny little thing is that the corridors have hard floors so you can hear people walking past the room. Putting it in there are it can be worrying if you don't expect to hear footsteps.

Excellent breakfast. Delicious dinner in the restaurant. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, in the center of the village and close to the ferry.

A marvellous location and home away from home for exploring Strangford Lough.

In the bar and restaurant all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were of high quality and I've rarely experienced such excellent poached eggs! We had one evening meal in the Cuan, and food was delicious, if anything there was a little bit too much. I strongly recommend the shank of lamb. Yummy. The hotel/bar is located in the town cdentre and very close to the ferry.

The room was quite small and we had brought quite a lot of baggage (not just clothes but essential medical items) for our 3-night stay. Also, due to medical issues, we found the stairs occasionally challenging.

World class Gorgeousness

This is one of the most gorgeously appointed hotels I have ever booked, anyway in the world. In the 'Plain English' style of interior decor - modern, cool, edgy but traditional. So spot-on. It was a clean, friendly, well-located and exquisitely decorated hotel. I left my coat behind and the staff were so helpful in ensuring it was returned to me by post. The location near Strangford Lough harbour just elevates this place into a class of its own.
