    If you are appointed a room 103, you will find the smell of the toilet is overwhelming, which is about 1 metre from the bed. The odour is a cocktail of smoke, tobacco alcohol n sweat, Not something that can be overlooked. On raising the concern, with staff at the desk, the response was , "it's ok for me" , shrugged his shoulders and walked out, Nice!. Next morning ,the contrast was so different, another staff at the desk organized us a position on 4th floor. When booking this budget hotel staff manners don't have to be budget as well. Other negative, points in room 103 , shower doesn't work, the sheets had previous guests hair, and there is no lift but winding stairs all way to 4th floor, it's of a better budget level,so only trekkers with full faculty will be ok.

    My cat once parked his butt flat against my face. I thought at the time, a low point for the human race. Directly on my nose—a pungent, blinding blur, The stench of his brown stained matted fur. . I swore I’d never relive such a traumatic event, But Hotel des Ambassadeurs had a different intent. The yellowed air-con unit, it rattled, it roared, Recirculating dust and bits off the floor. . An uncleaned hazard rattling with age, Leaving me paranoid of contracting mange. I fell asleep drenched in Ryanair fatigue, Bleary eyed, past care or intrigue. . Five hours later, with my throat bone-dry, I awoke itching, to a cigar smell heavy and high. But no, that can’t be. There’s only me in the room. No phantom smoker hiding in the shadows and gloom? . I roll left, I roll right, then the truth breaks free: My absolute horror... the smell... it's me!!! The bedspread's wiping its foul scent all over, While I squeal and turn like a pig trapped in the cover. . That "No Smoking" sign is a lie on the door, A Banksy misdirect upon us all. At fifty euros a night, sure, it's cheap as can be, But there’s no excuse for this dirt, smell and debris. . Go check your insurance, pray for protection, But stay the hell away from this 2 star erection.

    Stayed twice. First time my room smelled like wet and dried pee, the a/c screeched the whole night. I could not keep the windows open as I sleep because I was afraid someone would climb into my room. The bed was okay, a little dented in the middle. The wallpaper above my head was already peeling. When I came back after a few days the room smelled different, like a bottle of perfume spilled on the carpet, smells better than the dog and pee but still smelled too much I started coughing. Or it might be the wall—the peeling wallpaper was gone and the wall was painted instead. For some reason the cleaning lady missed the gum stuck on the wall, I could still smell the mint. The staff were friendly enough, the lady receptionist was friendlier. Upon check out, I brought the tv remote and the a/c remote to give back to the reception but it might have looked like I am running away with it because the cleaning lady told me you dont get that, leave it with me, said remote were always given to you when you check in along with your keys, I thought I have to give them back together w the keys. Also, no lift, good luck if you brought your largest suitcase and your room is on the 3rd floor. Shower needs a bit more cleaning, black molds on the grout. One soap dispenser for hands and showering, and although the soap smells wonderful, the dispenser looked like it had not been cleaned out for a long time. My room is street side, noisy when the windows are open, but the terrace is full of bird poop. But the location is perfect for me for my train trips.
