The obvious benefit of this hotel is its excellent location and amazing views of the sea. The hotel is a walking distance away from Chania old town, near a number of restaurants, and a stone's through away from a nice beach. The staff was also very friendly, warm and welcoming which made the stay pleasant.

The hotel's facilities are old. The showers are outdated - they have low water pressure and the water temperature is inconsistent. Furthermore, the soundproofing of the rooms is really poor. You can hear every discussion or door that opens and closes on your floor, and as the cleaners come in early and naturally make noise carrying and moving things around, chances are, you will wake up. It may not be an issue if you plan to wake up early, but definitely not suitable for a relaxing holiday if you want a lie in. Generally it is an old hotel in need of upgrading but at least it has some of the old school character. The room has a fridge which is a bonus but no kettle or any means to make a hot brew with.

Location and owners were wonderful.

Air-conditioning didn't work, wi fi only available downstairs, not in our room. Window broken in one of the bedrooms so couldn't be opened. Management made aware of window and air-conditioning, but not fixed. No kettle or cups.
