Since this is the second time, I have experienced a similar incident while staying at a hotel, I feel compelled to report it.
On the day of my departure, after checking out, I remained at the hotel to have a coffee by the pool. At the evening, I needed to charge my phone. As I had already left my luggage in the storage room, I asked for access to my bag in order to retrieve my phone charger. When I could not find it inside, I recalled that I had left the charger plugged into the power outlet in the room.
I approached the receptionist to ask whether a phone charger had been found. She informed me that nothing had been reported, but kindly offered to check the room herself, as the next guests had not yet arrived. Unfortunately, the charger was not found, and by then the room had already been cleaned. It is evident that whoever found the charger chose not to hand it in.
While I appreciated the receptionist’s assistance—she kindly provided a spare charger—the incident still caused considerable inconvenience. I was travelling by bus later that day and had to wait until I returned home to use my second charger.
Although the charger itself was inexpensive (approximately 10 euros), the inconvenience it caused was significant. This is a matter of principle rather than cost. As I mentioned, this is the second time this has happened to me at a hotel, and I believe it is important to raise awareness of such incidents.
