Ariadne Beach

Fine location and cosy room. It was comfortable to stay there. A nice surprise from the staff: a bottle of wine and snacks as a warm welcome. I also appreciate the self-check-in, as I arrived at night. Cleaning every day was also nice, as the room has a small kitchenette. Staff arranged my pickup from the airport too.

As I checked in during the night, I had expected to receive a little practical information about the hotel the following morning, as it would have helped me get familiar with the facilities and services. I had also expected my room to include a sofa based on how I understood the room description. I was later informed that not all rooms have one, but I think it would be helpful if this were a little clearer in the description. I would have appreciated having a more comfortable place to relax during the day than the dining chairs or the bed.

Incredibly welcoming and friendly staff made us feel completely at home. They create a wonderfully relaxed and pleasant atmosphere and delight in taking great care of their guests. So many delicious home baked/cooked vegan breakfast options and treats were provided every day. They really take pride in delivering an impressive selection, unlike many hotels where vegan breakfasts are usually very disappointing and poor value for money. Top marks for making a special effort to adapt traditional dishes just for us!

Would have preferred the use of sun loungers on the beach to be included for hotel guests but it does seem to be standard everywhere to charge extra.

It was my first time in Crete, and Platanias is a very nice spot. Especially, staying at Ariadne Beach was very enjoyable. The room was big, comfortable, with good air conditioning. It was directly at the beach. I just walked out of the room with my swimming shorts, went swimming and got back to my room. The crew was very friendly and kind. At some point, it felt like a stay with friends and family although I was alone.

Nothing to report here. It was great value for the price I paid.
