Great hotel, lovely food and hospitality, just lacked a little soul.

Great hotel, nice facilities and layout. Lovely swimming pools. Fantastic buffet and food options. Beautiful beach area. Great location for visiting Chania, 20 euros in taxi each way or much less if you use bus.

Lacked a bit of soul somehow. Maybe some music in the daytime would have helped. Bar closed a little early for a hotel but understand staff want to finish for the day. Strict towel policy. Only get a towel if you exchange for your towel card and towel place only open from 10am to 6pm so early starts or late finishes left you unable to get a clean towel. Not a major problem but an irritation. Threat of fine if you lose your towel or towel card. Not much immediately outside the hotel, a few bars and supermarket shops. Sunbeds around pool get taken up quite quickly, maybe more needed during peak times.

Perfect vacation with comfort, good food, and crystal-clear sea

The hotel is wonderful, with a spacious and very clean room. The cuisine is varied and truly delicious, with consistently different and top-quality dishes. The pools are large and well-maintained, perfect for relaxing. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and professional. The beach is just 100 meters away, easily accessible on foot, with comfortable loungers and a clear, clean sea. A perfect stay in every way!

At the last day of the stay, a lot of ants came from outside the door. The mosquito plug might have helped a bit

A lovely week in Crete

Excellent breakfast and dinner superb buffet style, staff always very accommodating and most amenities. Overall a very comfortable stay.

On arrival at night we had an army of ants in the room, this was eventually solved. I’d have to comment on the lack of sunbeds on the beach, and how people book them without actually being there. Generally service can be slow, but who’s rushing, right?

Perfect vacation at the Minoa Hotel

Amazing hotel with a private beach and great swimming pool, we stayed in the Imperial part of the hotel, the breakfast was so rich and delicious, the team was really helpful and nice especially the front desk manager Alicia! We liked every instant spent there and we’ll sure visit again😊🙏

Not a 5 star resort

Our expectations were high, but this 5 star hotel disappointed. The amenities are nice, the beach area as well and thalasso has a great view. The beds are very comfortable and the buffets varied in the evenings. The staff is amazing, so kind and caring, on top of everything. Alicia the manager did a great job, very professional and doing everything she can to accommodate us.

We started in an imperial room that was a letdown, with a view on a water structure and ugly buildings and a parking in the back. We changed to the main building the next day, a more cozy room with pool view. You cross a bridge over a highway to get from the main building to the imperial / beach side and the highway was busy and louder than we expected, you can hear it from most rooms in the main building. Big pools, closing at 6 PM. The imperial sea view rooms are serene, although even more expensive and even though these are the newer rooms, it feels dated. Maybe it’s a matter of taste as well. The balconies are well located, but the tiles are cheap and the furniture is simple, without cushions or anything comfortable. The price is doesn’t match the offer and they made smart photos. We enjoyed the buffet, quite diverse and much fruit in the morning and some diversity in the evenings. The gyms are alright and the spa is beautiful with a wide range of treatments. We had a massage by a woman which was bad, painful, uncomfortable and no real massage techniques, I wouldn’t recommend it at this price point. There’s also a male masseur and he does better apparently. The mini bar has tea and they only stock it between set times the next day, you’ll pay if you want an espresso capsule or bottle of water. They have packed wooden sticks to stir your drink.. It all feels very no frills and basic which is unacceptable for a price point at 350 euros a night. Overal an okay stay, but we just expected something nicer, this doesn’t live up to our 5 star hotel expectations and definitely not for the nightly price.

Lovely stay and lovely people

Wanted to leave a review before the sadness of coming home kicked in. The hotel is very nice, the dinner for half board is excellent and highly recommend. Never ate so well. The room with a private swimming pool is a lovely feature and thank you so much for upgrading us - but the absolute winner are the people. The staff could not be any more welcoming and hospitable. No problem or issue is not met with excellent service. They were the most polite and friendly (and very well presented) staff I’ve ever seen at a hotel. Our cleaner was delightful. I actually learned the names of the staff because they were so friendly. They taught me some Greek! Special mention to all the very helpful women on front desk. To the waiters Ilias and Marios. Even the lifeguards were super friendly, relaxed and wanted to chat. The rooms are spotlessly clean and if you want a great one I recommend staying in 720 which is in the new complex (Imperial) by the quieter pool. I would recommend this for a couple or an older family. I think kids 3-9 might find it a bit boring as no kids club or games room but there is plenty for them to do on the strip nearby like mini golf etc. They have good parking and close to chania. The beach is right on terrace with breakfast. Fantastic. I may very well come again even though they say never to try and go on the same wonderful holiday twice.

Outstanding breakfast buffet with tables indoors and outdoors for choice. Wide range of foods that seemed to suit most guests and early breakfast for those setting off early for a Gorge walk or the airport. Plenty of pools to choose from but needed more accessible showers for guests to wash off sun cream before a swim. Sunbeds were a decent height. Pool towels available from 1000 - 1800. Choice of grass or hard standing areas. Access to pool bar / Italian restaurant one side of the complex and the other Imperial side had pool and beach - again with restaurants. Lift down to WC on this site. Bar staff came round with orders of freddo cappuccino / beer/ fruit drinks as ordered from the QR code on the parasol. On site parking available. Staff everywhere were amazing. Musical entertainment each evening and themed buffets. On site mini shop.

More parasols perhaps. Easier access to WC for the less mobile guests. We had an interconnecting door in our room and it reduced our privacy a bit - we could hear the occupants talking / TV channels etc

Definitely returning to Crete, not to this money-grabbing hotel

Extremely clean and junior staff were very helpful and friendly. The botanical gardens were 30 minutes away and a great place to visit.

Unbelievable that this hotel thinks it’s 5 Stars. - Coffee in the room was provided at the start but it cost extra for daily refills - Better sun beds cost 20 euros per day (basic ones were free) - Even the jacuzzi in the spa cost extra - One bottle of water was provided on arrival, when we asked for another we were told to order from room service - Not all of the restaurants advertised were open (mid/late April) - Room sound insulation was terrible, you could hear everything from the neighbours. The repeated attempts to up-sell made for a bad experience despite lovely customer-facing staff.

Spa was ridiculous. Booked a 50min deep tissue massage. Told the masseuse stefania my problem areas were my neck and shoulders and to focus on them. She massaged those areas for max 3 mins and then proceeded to tell me after my massage that I need to come back for a neck and shoulder massage as she felt that they tight (surprise she realised that after I told her they were) which was an extra 50e and a facial…definitely felt the pressures of up selling. Not an authentic experience. Shouldn’t have to come back twice to get a massage for an area that should have been completed on the first time. She could have suggested to change the original massage from deep tissue to neck and shoulder to cater for my needs better . This is what makes a 10/10 service.. told reception on check out and they had no comment. Wouldn’t recommend the spa facilities unless you want to be taken for a free ride. Been to several 5 star spas in Europe and never had a poor experience like this.

Very relaxing

Lovely resort. Breakfast was amazing. Great quality and huge variety. Customer service from staff at all levels was excellent. Facilities are very nice. Beach a very short walk with free umbrellas and deckchairs and good snacks. Lots of pools if that's your thing. Beach can get a bit windy in July though when the Meltemi winds kick in. Supermarket is next door to the resort and a cute little shopping strip is nearby with nice jewellery stores and kids activities.

Rooms are a little dated. Wouldn't rate them 5 star. More like 4 star. Resorts in Europe in general need to be a lot more family friendly. Very expensive if you're a family of 4 to have a decent room with kids being able to sleep on proper beds instead of couches. Note that at this resort couches do not pull out to sleep 2 kids. They only sleep one. They just put a single mattress on the couch. Pay close attention to the room configuration if you have kids.

Comfortable very large room with large balcony. Very spacious. Excellent breakfast (buffet with huge selection of foods). Swimming pool, etc. All signs of luxury hotel. The room has many closets, drawers, TV, coffee machine, etc. Touristy area, with many nice restaurants nearby.

Only two coffee capsules provided free of charge. (Even lower class hotels renew suplies daily!) Same goes about the bottled water. The beach near the hotel is so-so. Quite a distance from the nearby city of Chania - the taxis are quite expensive.

The facilities are absolutely amazing - Private pool, private beach, incredible food and restaurants and so much more! The downside was the resort was a lot bigger than anticipated with a lot of people - so be prepared.

The gym is in very poor condition - equipment should be upgraded and/or better maintained. We also didn't get the room that we booked on Booking.com and got "upgraded" to a room that looked straight into another room. Thankfully we got moved, however, I was still annoyed that we didn't get the room we initially booked.

A great choice relatively close to Chania for beachfront, quiet stay

Breakfast- i enjoyed that they had traditional Greek breakfast options including local products from Crete Staff- everyone did an amazing job Room- i picked a room with view to the sea at the imperial side- even though i dont stay much at my room it was a great choice Beach- the beach is of very good quality even though i preferred to drive most days to the famous beaches of crete Proximity to Chania- i picked this hotel to be close to Chania but also to be quiet and beachfront

nothing i didnt like i was aware that most of the north Crete beaches do not have the water visibility that south has but overall the swimming was nice
