Nice place but customer service sucks

The hotel itself is very nice although a bit rough around the edges. You can tell this place has high traffic volumes. The restaurants and bars were very nice as were the pools and beach areas. The breakfast buffet was very good.

I noticed that the air conditioning in my room wasn't working. I called the front desk. They quizzed me as though this was my fault and then told me it was working. Ok, so now they think I'm an idiot. I called back and said it was still warm in my room. They sent some guy who turned the thermostat down two degrees and left. That did nothing, as the AC still wasn't working. My wife and I were warm all night long and I called back in the morning. The actual maintenance guy came out and found filters dirty and the unit tripped off. Shocking. He reset everything and said he would be back in 30 min to check it. It was more like 45 minutes and the unit was working and blowing cold. They never offered me a new room. It was I that had to request a new room and they were extremely hesitant. Since the AC was fixed, I stayed in my room because I liked it and we had already unpacked our things. When it was time to check out I asked if they were going to credit me in some way for my issues. Nope, nothing. Customer service score? ZERO.

We spent two fantastic weeks in Platanias, and were kindly upgraded from Porto Platanias Beach Resort & Spa to the Luxury Selection. This was our fourth stay with the Porto Platanias brand — starting with Village, then Resort & Spa, and now Luxury Selection. That loyalty says it all. 🧼 Spotless & Impressive The place is immaculate. Rooms, pool, restaurant terrace — everything sparkles, all the time. Their attention to cleanliness is almost obsessive, in the best way. 🍽️ Half Board Delights • Breakfast: Buffet-style, rich and varied. From light options like fruit and yogurt to hearty eggs, sausages, and cooked vegetables. Coffee is served at the table, including specialty drinks from the bar. • Dinner: À la carte on the upper terrace, with a curated menu of salads, appetizers, mains, and desserts. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The sunset views and romantic evening atmosphere made it hard not to order everything — finishing it all was the real challenge. You’re on your own delicious risk. 🤝 Heartfelt Hospitality The staff are genuinely kind and always smiling. A special thank you to Katerina at reception, who was incredibly helpful and warm throughout our stay. Her suggestions and support made a real difference. 🏖️ Final Thoughts Porto Platanias Beach Luxury Selection is more than a hotel — it’s a place we keep coming back to. Spotless, welcoming, and delicious in every way. Highly recommended.

Honestly, it’s hard to complain. The only hiccup was courtesy of Mother Nature: for two days, the sea was wild, with big waves and a red flag warning — no swimming allowed. But credit where it’s due: the hotel clearly had a word with Poseidon, because by day three, the waves had calmed and swimming resumed. Now that’s service!

Simple amenities, such as an iron, were not provided in the room, and we had to pay extra to use the safety box. Overall, the hotel did not offer good value for the money we paid.

Location was nice and central. AC is good

We didn't like -breakfast (no egg station for your choice) -There were no amenities (coffee, tea, water heater, etc.. Upon complaining they gave us a water heater but no cups) When we complained again they got us a coffee drio machine with no coffee no filters, no cups. -we got cups from breakfast and they disappeared the next day. -Water in the fridge complimentary on first day, no repleneshing for the 5 remaining days, we had to go buy on a daily basis. -on the day of the check out, we got knocked on the door by the cleaning lady at 9am and then at 10am, saying it was a mistake -no late checkout possible -Pool are overcrowded, not enough lounge chairs -Pools are weirdly situated within the compound, the adult pool being surrounded from all sides by buildings and rooms overlooking it. Adult pool with teenagers present. -It is not a hotel per say, but just a resort open on all sides and you can bring your own drinks and food to it. -Beach is public so you always have one person asking for you to pay the umbrealla and lounges unless you have a pass from the reception (which we did) -People from outside the hotel would peddle services at the beach: massages, fruits and trinkets -our duplex doesn't even allow for privacy as the sliding door has no lock and has aeration slants in them, so if you are counting on disconnecting from the kids, that's not happening. -rooms too small -Felt like a money grab

Nice, modern hotel with many different pools - chilled atmosphere even when it was quite busy in July. Nice food and view from the main restaurant. Plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel if you want/need something else.

I think there should be more than 1 bar offered on the all inclusive package. It was also very annoying that by 9am all sunbeds had towels on them. I think staff should go round and take towels off the beds to stop this issue

Very friendly staff & managers. Super location between Platanias main street and best beach in the "area". Good coctails in the bar & local "stomach friendly" beer ; ). Nice food and very clean buffet restaurant with amazing seaview ! Gluten free food was well marked and multible choices ! ! Seaview from studio room balcony was stunning ( see sunrise picture from our balcony in pictures... ! very good gym, wifi worked well...I could continue this list all day ; )

Would love to stay here again, we thoroughly enjoyed Porto Platanias and its amenities.

We were upgraded to the adult only luxury suites upon check in. Superb breakfast! So many choices and all the foods were fresh and delicious. The views from the room and the restaurant were gorgeous. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to help us find a snorkel place when the one we attempted to book with was full the day we wanted to go. We were pleasantly surprised by the complementary beach bag, sun creams and drinks in the refrigerator. We enjoyed the serene, peaceful environment of the adult only part of the hotel.

The beach area on the adults only side of the hotel was rocky and difficult to walk out in the water. We were able to walk down the beach a little ways to enter the water though.

Rip off hotel, definitely not 5 star. Worst food ever

Swimming pool was ok

This is a rip off hotel, definitely not 5 star. False advertising. I have travelled extensively and stayed at worthy places who are 4 star but provide 5 star quality. This place is having a laugh and punching. I pad over £210 per night wth. The AI is a joke, the only place you can get AI drinks is ONE bar. The beachside deckchairs and parasols are chargeable. But don’t get me started on the food, it is truly awful. This is the first time I’ve been really disappointed with AI in all the places I’ve stayed in Europe. The quality is poor. The food is repetitive and bland. The meats are all overdone and mass produced. No proper seafood apart from overdone inedible mussels and soggy fried fish likely bought frozen from Costco. Most five star hotels have international spreads such as sushi and other higher quality items eg prawns. This place has none of that. So come here if you want to waste all your hard earned money throughout the year. You WILL be disappointed and in my case absolutely fuming. I was so glad to leave and eat out at a proper restaurant. I felt like I was let out of prison it was so bad. You are all warned ! Thank you hotel Platanias for nothing and robbing me of a decent holiday

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and attentive to every detail. The room was spotless, modern and comfortable. The food was delicious. I especially appreciated the fresh ingredients and the thoughtful options for every palate. The hotel grounds were immaculate and the multiple pools provided a peaceful and refreshing escape. The atmosphere was calm and serene, making it the perfect place to unwind. I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top service, comfort, and relaxation. Truly a 5-star experience in every way!

The room had a pool...it has a leakage...every morning we was togetheter with the maintenance guy, the sun umbrella was broken, was not repaired/changed, the lockbof the balkony door was broken, it has taken 3 days to repair the lock....

We had a fantastic time and would return in a heartbeat

The beach was like something from a travel magazine! The view from the restaurant took our breath away every time. There food was delicious and there are many options to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will never forget Tamara from the pool bar who always greeted us with the biggest smile and made our stay that much more special.

We still give this hotel a 10 because we had a fantastic time. For full transparency: the air conditioning was too weak for the extreme July heat but that would not be an issue in other months. The bed was a bit soft and springy for our liking but that is question of personal preference.

Best location in Platanias

Location it right on the beach next to the small local port where there are tour boats and jet ski rentals also scuba diving tours.

Lots of tourist groups and everything that comes with them. Not your quiet vacation spot nonetheless all the amenities make up for the crowds.

The hotel has a blue flag sandy beach which is very clean and nice. Water sports can be practiced onsite. I made my reservation through booking and I received complimentary sunbeds, and a 55 min voucher for the SPA. I only had breakfast in the hotel, but the food was very good and diverse, and the restaurant is facing the beach so it has an excellent view. During the night I saw that they have live music for adults and entertainment for the kids. It seems like a very family friendly hotel, with lots of pools, sunbeds and games (table tennis, pool, darts etc.). The staff is very friendly.

Loved our stay here

The hotel is very clean and ALL staff are so helpful and so professional, this was evident everywhere you went in the hotel. The customer service was fantastic. The prices of drinks are on par with other bars so we felt happy to stay at the hotel and have a few drinks rather than rush straight out. Breakfast on the roof terrace makes for a beautiful start to the day. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

We would have preferred a double bed rather than two twins pushed together, but we didn’t feel the need to raise this.

Amazing sea view from the room. Good clean beach. Friendly staff always ready to help. Options to leave luggage after checkout in case of late flight. Good breakfast. Very big territory of the hotel with lots of corridors, so it was not clear how to get from room to reception.
