Incredible views

Nothing we did not like

Amazing views. Lovely breakfast with freshly ground coffee and delicious bread - the only negative was that the scrambled eggs were a bit cool and solid when we got to them!

We struggled a bit not having a car as we’d chosen to take the beautiful train journey from Porto. This meant we had to take taxis up and down the valley (Uber did not respond) and when we were setting out for a booked boat journey and a taxi was not available, we ended up hitching rides! I tried to phone the tel no provided on the booking for advice re: taxis etc but there was no response. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. There was a kettle but nothing else!

Casa da Seara is in a stunning location overlooking the Douro Valley.

1. This is not a standard B and B. This is B and B Remote. You aren’t likely to see the owner or staff. Breakfast left out from 0830 so the scrambled egg looked like bad school egg by time we got there at 0930. 2 The walls between rooms are paper thin so you get to enjoy the neighbour’s conversations as well as yours. 3 There is not enough parking for the number of rooms. 4. We had a problem with check in (my fault for failing to read e-mails) but the owner managed not to be able to answer her phone.
