A charming apartment perfect for exploring Lyon

the apartment was the perfect place for our family of five adults to spend our time in Lyon. We loved the space and found it very well located for walking to the old city and exploring the area. There are many restaurants nearby and it is just a few steps away from the Musee de Beaux Arts. It is very well equipped and a great place for relaxing and recharging after a full day of fun in Lyon.

There is no stand up shower but instead a bath tub with a hand held shower. This was not a big problem but it was very difficult for my 80 year old mother to step in and out of.

Great location, but sleep-depriving noise and a difficult shower for anyone 5'8" or taller

Excellent location, clean, pleasant atmosphere, friendly and communicative host

Two main complaints: first, the street noise at night made for miserable attempted sleep in the bedroom that faces the street. Revving motors both of motorcycles and sports cars, and people yelling to each other continued until after 4am on weekend nights. Truly awful even with double paned windows firmly shut and white noise turned up all the way on my phone. Second, taking a standing shower was quite difficult without hitting my head on a beam (I am just under 5'10" tall), because the bathroom ceiling is quite low, and the tub bottom is @14" higher than the bathroom floor. I had to stand with my head between the beams and be careful not to move around too much or risk whacking my head. Anyone over @5'8" runs the risk of hitting their head, and anyone over 6' tall would not be able to stand up to shower at all, as the ceiling is about 5" above the bottom of the beams. For those planning on the ability to do laundry, it is also worth mentioning that the washer/dryer took well over 4 hours to complete a load, and that was with setting it to stop while clothes were still damp; also it does not display how long the full cycle takes or count down to the end so you can have some confidence that it is working properly. We did follow the instructions in the manual (in French, which we translated using Google Translate).
