Nice room with good jungle view, quiet and peaceful. Located in traditional balinese guest house. Shower was nice and strong. Owners were super friendly and kind.

WiFi was really slow, like 1-2 mbps, even Whatsapp messaging was barely working. Gas stove was dangerous to use, fire was almost exploding every time you try to turn it on.

Lack of soap, towels and location of the property. Easy to get a Gojek/Grab bike but hard to get a car. Owner offers to give lifts though!

A perfect, peaceful & accesible family home stay near the rice paddies.

I really liked my room & especially the balcony & view. The family are so kind & gentle & helped me with my trip, collecting me from Sanur & taking me to my next stay. I loved seeing their everyday life & their beautiful children. The air con, fridge, water & comfortable large bed were much appreciated & I enjoyed walking up to the Pyramid of Chi & then through the rice paddies to Ubud.

Is super beautiful with the jungle and the small cooking area in front of the room. You have a lot of privacy what I really liked.

You’re in the jungle, of course more insects like ants and mosquitoes buts normal.

nice location, but very dirty

What I liked: The price is very affordable, and the location is great. It’s a convenient place that does the job if you just need a quick stay

What I didn’t like: Unfortunately, the cleanliness was a big issue. The ventilation cover looked like it had never been cleaned, and the bedsheets didn’t seem fresh. The owner even mentioned he doesn’t use regular detergent, which I don’t consider a positive. The floor was dirty, with cobwebs and ants. I ended up sleeping in my clothes and using my own towel as a cover.

Good place if you find calm

I been there about 20 days in different rooms, in the first room in my opinion was 8 and the second room 9, because the second room was all a bit better. For my the best about this room is the calm, even in the room more under you’ll can listen the river in the night.

Should be cleaner

Epic view (had the top room luckily) and after asking, I did receive a second towel (I was alone, but had a double bed room booked). BUT...

...that second towel seemed to have been the limit. When I asked for another little towel for the floor in front of the bathroom on day3 (the old one was soaking wet), the man simply refused and said I already asked for a towel yesterday. I really just tried to keep my room clean but wasn't even provided with a second floor towel - maybe I should have just asked them to clean the room instead. Idk. But it made me feel bit unwelcome. Also the bathroom has many many rocks on the floor and the way they "clean" it is by pouring clorine and chemicals over them, that's it. When I dropped the soap during my first shower and picked it up again, I picked up a bunch of hair from the privious girl living there with it (like heeaps). Which told me, that they don't really clean the bathroom (it would be a lot of work to do it properly with all these rocks - weird concept). Yeah 7 stars I give but if you're a hygiene nerd, book another place. Also heaps of dirt and dust underneath the bed and other furniture. Proper cleaning is definitely not a priority here. There are better places in Ubud in the same price range.

Great place! Loved it

Very peaceful and quiet with a nice view, full of jungle. The family was super friendly and helpful and made me feel right at home. The location is great. You can walk to some nice cafés nearby, with healthy food and there is not so much traffic. But if you want to go to downtown Uber, you can just take a scooter or a grab.

For me, it was perfect. Even had a little tea kitchen where I cooked some breakfast and it had a fridge.

Fair price, but would not fully recommend

It had a nice green garden, a ready to use kitchen and a water dispenser. The AC worked very well and it kept the room cold the whole time. The room was clean and the shower had warm water; the price for the value given was fair. I appreciate the owner being so flexible and providing me with a small shift of booking dates free of charge.

That being said, I don’t want to be rude, but this isn’t an accommodation that deserves 8.7. When I arrived I asked for a soup as there wasn’t any in the room and was told that I only pay for the room and bed and have to buy the soap on my own (even though they have acknowledged this here as something they will improve based on previous reviews) The Wi-if connection in the room was terrible, and since there was no reception I could not use my data so it was almost impossible to be online in the room. The bathroom was moldy, the shower was designed so that it was impossible to keep your hair dry when showering. To access your room you have to always have to go through the family’s private area, which felt a bit weird every time. Regarding privacy, if you get a room on the ground floor expect someone to come to your entrance 2-3 times a day for the traditional offerings.

The AC is not working and lots of ants in the bathroom and bedroom. But it’s clean, so need to be careful to store your food. And no parking lot so might be difficult if you are driving cars. Motorbike can park outside, but always be mindful to keep your keys.

Very good value for money, quiet location and comfortable stay with amazing jungle view from balcony The host family were extremely friendly & welcoming, always greeting with a smile & 'Halo's' They allowed early luggage drop off prior to check-in Spacious room and very comfortable bed, efficient AC Outside kitchen was good for basic meals, tea & coffee making as stove was very good We appreciated the free refill for the drinking water dispenser, thank you

No hot water in the shower, lukewarm at best although good pressure, no soap for hand washing, towels and sheets although they felt clean had some small stains and holes in (however this is not uncommon for budget Bali accommodation...) Not quite as clean as we would have liked with regards to cobwebs Outside trash bin could have lid/ cover due to attracting ants

Pleasant little homestay

The family was very wholesome and welcoming, beautiful energy and very supportive of our needs. We also loved the fresh forest in our balcony for fresh air and bird sounds.

The fridge was bit loud at night and disturbing of sleep and no windows in the bathroom for air cirulation. Fan was bit dirty but we did not need as we got plently of fresh air from forest balcony door.

Lovely accomodation but do something with the humidity in the room

The location is ok,but you will need a scooter,the ubud center it is at 3 km away.The personal was very kind and welcoming. Room was very nice with a nice view and a small kitchinette,the room size was small but enough for a traveler without too many stuff.

The only downside is the humidity in the room,the bathroom has no window,so it is a close space and because of the humidity there is a specific smell,sometimes was hard to breath.

Home away from home, one of our favourite stays in Bali

This was one of our favourite places we stayed in Bali and we miss it so much! My husband & I stayed here for 2 weeks. The room was sparkling clean, and the green jungle view from the balcony was just beautiful. We loved the small kitchen on the balcony to make some basic things like popcorn & eggs. We also both work online & the wifi was great, we never had any problems. There is also a desk on the balcony for working with an amazing jungle view, where you can hear the river flowing. Most of all - we completely fell in love with the family and loved chatting with them each time we came home or headed out for the day. Highly recommend also getting a massage & healing session - it was ons of the best I've had. The location is also perfect and we went for long walks & runs in the morning or for sunset, since Jalan Subak Sok Wayah is just around the corner which is one of the best & most beautiful rice paddie walks in Ubud. It's also outside of the hectic Ubud city centre, which is a huge must for me when in Ubud in order to have a good experience. But it's still super close and just a short walk/drive to the centre. Also amazing restaurants nearby. I've spent quite some time in Ubud and I must say this is one of my favourite areas to stay in. We also rented a motorbike from them. Highly, highly recommend! Thank you so much to Manwarsa, Made & family! We miss you!
