Hotel Amira Istanbul

The hotel was charming with beautiful features such as the staircase and the chandelier in Reception. The bedding was pristine and rooms were changed daily, if required. The dining room was very pleasant and the breakfast was varied. The Turkish lady present in the adjoining room made delicious flatbreads while you waited! The roof bar, with three different level terraces, had an amazing view of Lake Marmara and the roof-tops around the hotel. Most importantly, the staff were lovely and so polite. They were warm and welcoming. They greeted you with smiles and were ready to help in any way. In particular, the Manager, Volkan Kiziltas was wonderful. His English was excellent, He was charming, informed and gave good advice relating to our planned visits. he spared a little time to chat, when not busy and contributed to the enjoyment of our stay at Hotel Amira. Would we go back there? In a heart-beat!

There was nothing we did not like. Context is everything and the hotel reflected it's Turkish traditions in a subtle but not over-whelming way.

Very nice Hotel in Sultanahmet, within a short walk of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace etc. Friendly staff, nice rooms and a good breakfast selection enhanced by the lady making lovely Gozleme to order. The hotel offers an airport pick up and drop off that was very efficient. We would happily stay again.

The drink prices in the rooftop bar are very high. It's common in other places in the area too, not unique to Amira. €20 for an Aperol Spritz!!

Close to tourist sites

A lot of famous sights in walking distance. Also good eating spots nearby. Do try the freshly baked gozeme in the morning.

The room was not clean at all. Found packaging behind the furniture belonging to the previous guest. The curtains where broken and the rail holding them was half way fallen from the ceiling. The wallpaper was also starting to unwrap ins ome places. The bathroom could use some renovation amd cleaning as well. The air conditioning filter seemed like it was nevwr cleaned since instalment. Sockets coming out of wall.
