Home sweet home - close to the city, within walking distance of the center

We stayed the 3rd week of October in the house of Francesco, who has been very helpfull with all necesary information about the house itself and the city of Lucca. The city is only 10 minutes away on foot. The car is left behind in the private spot by the house, well guarded by a gate. The house provides spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped. A house to be enjoyed. Lucca is worth the visit from where Toscany can be enjoyed by car. Jaap and Astrid

Situated on a very busy road, not safe to walk into Lucca and had to use car all the time.

From the delightful home, the superb host Francesco, to the wonderful walled city of Lucca this was a perfect holiday retreat. Francesco is rightfully proud of of his property and is a friendly and enthusiastic host who made our stay a pleasure. Our family who joined us for the week soaked up the relaxed vibe this house provided. The city of Lucca is a 15-20 minute easy walk away (15 there quite often longer back 🍷🍷🍷🍷) and is itself a real treasure. This place will be in our memories forever and we'll make every effort to get back. Grazie il nostro amico Francesco.

House and property hand everything needed for a comfortable stay.

From the initial inquiry Francesco communicated swiftly and made the whole booking and arrival process easy ("Whats app" really helped) so we arrived with an air of confidence about our booking. He was such a great host he even allowed us to arrive a day earlier to avoid the traffic due to the Rolling Stones concert in Lucca over the weekend.Meeting us on arrival he went through everything and although he was working on the day we departed so unable to be present , my deposit was back in my bank account within days. The house its self is very traditional ,large and extremely clean, the upstairs bathroom is superb with excellent water pressure and a bidet which I always feel is a bonus. I like to cook and found the kitchen was equipped for my needs. Wi fi was quick , better than we have at home. There was a very minimal charge for exceeding the daily allowance which was made clear from the start.It was a very few euros so not worth worrying about. The location for access to Lucca is very good.We hardly used the car which remained in the secure driveway (electronic gate). The road is quite busy and there is road noise but this didn't bother us . We chose to walk into Lucca, 20 mins nice stroll to the walls and gate, it takes about another 10-15 mins to walk to the station through the gorgeous town. During our stay we took easy, cheap and efficient trains to Florence(1 hr 19) and Pisa (30 mins) , it looks as if it is quite easy and cheap to park near the station if you don't want to walk. We chose to drive to the coast which was about 25 mins. My husband took his road bike and found many places to cycle . I attended the most excellent cooking class which was just 2.3 km down the road, had there been a pavement I could have walked. There is a very friendly grocery steps away which sells good bread and fresh veg . It is possible to walk to a large supermarket but it is only 5 mins drive. There is a great farmers market a 5 min walk over the bridge on a Saturday and larger markets 10 mins further on. Lucca is the most fabulous place and so accessible to loads of different experiences. In our week stay we have only just touched the surface and we would definitely return.When we do, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thankyou Francesco for being such a kind and great host.

Our family (5 persons) have stayed in the house for almost two weeks and it was very comfortable. With a garden and covered terrace, also a driveway and parking lot on the property behind a lockable fence with remote control. The house is sufficiently large, tastefully decorated, very well equipped and above all clean. With the windows open (especially in the summer nights) there is some traffic noise due to the adjacent road. With the windows closed there is no nuisance. The city of Lucca and its surroundings are fantastic and easily accessible by car or train (like Pisa or Florence). At 50 meters distance of the house is a bakery for daily fresh bread and the most necessary food. The house is within a walking distance (about 20 minutes) of Lucca's old town. The beaches in Viareggio are about 30 km far (30 - 40 minutes by car). Once there it's great at the coast. The owner is very friendly and helpful, he's proficient in the English language and easily accessible (e.g. WhatsApp). We can highly recommend this property, because of the good quality / price ratio and especially the friendly owner.

The house is very nice and comfortable, only 25 minutes walk from the centre of Lucca. It is very well equipped with everything what you need for shorter or longer stays. 50 meters from the house there is a little shop with fresh bread, vegetables and pizza, something that makes your life easy. Francesco, the owner of the house, is always helpful and makes you feel very welcome! The place is recommended for people who prefer the city rather than countryside but only a short drive from the beautiful surroundings of Tuscany. Me, my wife and our 2 children had a very good time in this place.

We've spent 3 nights in the house of Freancesco. It was more than enough for five adults offering every comfort you need. The house and the garden is fabolous, even in winter. I can imagine how beautiful is it in the summer. I hope, we'll try....We could leave our rented car in the garden, no need to use it and pay for parking in Lucca, it's only some minutes by walking. Francesco is a very kind host, who did his best for us. Thank you Francesco!

Lovely spacious and very clean house in a great location just 10 min walk to centre of Lucca. Nice outdoor terraced eating area and gardens and free with-fi. 2 great restaurants within walking distance of house and a couple of bars/cafés and lots more within 10 mins drive. Supermarket , bakery and a few shops within walking distance. Francesco was a great host - very helpful and his wine is great too !!!! Will definitely return.

We were 3 adults and we stayed in the house for 1 week. The owner was nice and friendly. About the house, it is spacious, clean, equipped enough and located near downtown. So I strongly recommend this accomodation.
