Great value property in a fab location.

Great location 2 mins walk from funicular/metro station and 10 mins to Hotel de Ville and the Saone River. Spotlessly clean and very modern. Nice café/bar with lots of socialising/work space available. Powerful showers. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Inexpensive.

Showers are timed and go off after 10 seconds. Have to constantly press the button to have an uninterrupted flow of water.

Good location, friendly staff, kitchen, cafe, laundry.

Cleaning was not bad. I saw only dry mopping daily of my 10 bed female dorm, but not wet. No elevator or lift.

The atmosphere was very welcoming. The hostel is close to the Hotel de Ville metro and doesn't require a hike up the hill.

It was fine. My US friends have higher norms and I respected my budget as mother of 2.

It was a stone throw from the studio where my friends were staying. We managed to do daily activities together - our principal goal.

Perhaps I should have asked for an all female dorm. There was one loud heavy snorer, an older man in the mixed dorm. But I sleep easily and it passed for me.

A pleasant experience

The location of the property is very central and there are some wonderful restaurants of walkable distance from the property, The staff are very friendly and the room is very comfortable with very clean toilets and bathrooms. Eventhough the hostel does not have a parking lot, but there are free parking spaces you can find within a short distance from the hostel where you can park your car and walk back to the hostel.

Some room mates will not just respect the right of others to have a quiet time and sleep but this is no fault of the hostel.

The receptionist and cafe were the only part of my stay that I enjoyed because the rest of facilites were dirty and not

The receptionist was very nice and the location is great.

The facilites were not good. The beds did not have a privacy curtain or anything. There was only one available outlet by the bed. The room was very warm, with mosquitoes flying around since the windows were open. The bathrooms were also not clean at all (water everywhere including by the sink, dirty water in showers, dirty floors, mold.)

Nice hostel close to the old city of Lyon

Nice hostel close to the old city of Lyon, which has a very bohemian vibe. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We rented a private room which was very clean and neat. We ate out all the time but the hostel has facilities for those who want to prepare their own meals.

The room had a ceiling fan which wasn't enough to keep the room cool, especially at night. It was very hot during our stay so we couldn't open the windows during the day as the room would get warmer. We had to keep the ceiling fan on all the time with little effect. I would recommend installing air conditioning as it gets unbearably hot in the summer.

Clean and comfortable

Room was just above a restaurant/bar open until 2am. It was nearly impossible to sleep until it closed. In my opinion, it seems that the hostel managers are not interested in solving the issue.

Worth staying!

So cozy and centrally located! The staff was very friendly and even though I stayed in the 10 women's dormitory I was not bothered by the noise. The people staying there were also friendly and respectful. Depends on your expectations but the breakfast was good enough for me.

Unfortunately the mattress was not so comfortable and maybe a little more attention could be paid to cleanliness. But still I would stay again.

Fresh pancakes at breakfast was a treat and the overall vibe was super chill. The rooms were large, with bed 'cubbies' that offer some privacy but by no means disconnected you from others. I Would definetly recommend SLO for travellers looking to connect with new people.

I would need someone to remind me to bring a lock for the storage compartments haha! And as a brit I would love a tea or coffee in the late evening (always pleased when I find this in a place to stay!) However, they do have a cafe at check-in which didn't seem to be open in the late evening.

The staff was great, the kitchen was well equipped, the location was perfect as it’s close to everything. The shower the toilet and amenities were perfect. I was in a female only dorm and the room mates were respectable.

The bunk bed had only one plug and the ladder was slightly hard to hold on to for descending.

Overall, the location is not bad, as it is very near to the metro and city centre.

I like the staff and the common area. The staff is really friendly, nice and helpful. They speak very good English and they give us fresh water instead of tap water. They are really doing a good job.

I didnt know that the hostel has no ventilation (fan) nor air conditioning/ It is really hot during the summer. And the toilet is a bit dirty.

Fun hostel with great staff. Centrally located with some very cool bars within a couple mins walk.

Large rooms with good sized beds. Beautiful large windows and tall ceilings.

too good to be true… dirty rooms and bathroom

the staff are really friendly and the coffee shop is cozy

the bedroom and bathroom were filthy. A thick layer of dust and hair all over the floor and especially the corners of the room. I assume there isn’t a cleaner ? the toilets were equally as dirty but worse as you can imagine… After your stay you need to take off your dirty sheets (that have holes and stains on) to the laundry room… it’s a shame it was too good to be true. Id stick to just going for a coffee.

You have to pay to leave your luggage in a locker. I have never ever seen anywhere where you are a guest and have yo pay 1€ per hour to leave your luggage (checkin is 3pm). There are no shelves or even hooks in the toilets or bathroom where to put your things.
