Nice and cosy cottage

It was a very nice, clean and cosy cottage. The host had prepared a package of delicious local food, which was much appreciated. Also providing a Chrome app that could be used offline and contained lots and lots of information was very helpful. Quite some walks and sightseeing in the neighbourhood (but car needed to reach them).

The cottage is located directly alongside the busy A811 road, and the traffic sounds kept us awake. Nothing that can be done about that. WIFI reception was not very strong, probably because the main point was in the cleaning store and the walls are thick. Better put it in the living area? Also all the instructions were translated into Dutch using Google Translate, but that gave quite some formulation oddities. I'd prefer the original English ;-)

An absolute gem just south of Loch Lomond.

Cosy wee stay in Balfron

Cosy cottage. Touch tone lamps in bedroom were nice. Lovely, helpful, approachable owner. Had all that we needed for our stay. Starter pack provided was nice and tasty. Comfortable beds. Plenty of kitchenware for cooking, which we did every day. Board games were fun. Plenty books and maps to explore the surrounding area. Driving distance to Drymen and Loch Lomond and very near to home in Glasgow. Easy to travel to. The horses were lovely at owners cottage next door. Left some items behind on check out which owner has kindly contacted us about and offered to post to us.

Wasn't walking distance to anywhere, like local shops, pubs, restaurants, leisure centre, etc or any local walking trails, but we knew that when we booked. Couldn't get the Internet to connect but wasn't an issue as we brought our own portable router with us. Couldn't get Netflix to connect as someone else's email was signed into it and wouldn't let us remove it. Wasn't much of an issue either as we weren't there to watch TV.

Relaxing break in a comfy country cottage ideally situated for exploring the Trossachs.

A very nice stay in this beautiful, comfortable, little cottage. The cottage is well equipped, very clean, and Anne, the owner, provided a lovely welcome pack of delicious local foodstuffs. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the area and is within easy reach of Loch Lomond and the rest of the Trossachs. A truly wonderful stay thank you!

Wi-Fi connection intermittent. Traffic noise at certain times of day. As close to main road extreme care had to be taken when exiting the parking area.

Good position for exploring, well -equipped and comfortable cottage

well-equipped, had everything we needed. Helpful manager Comfortable Good views and lovely to see the birds feeding outside the lounge window

Very close to a fast and noisy road Property was cold on arrival, but heated up the following day Given covid is airborne, it seemed a bit unnecessary for us to strip all beds and secure bedding and towels in laundry bags.

Home comfort and relaxation at its best

The cottage was perfectly clean, the instructions were a welcome help to keep the place up to owners standard. The bed was super comfortable and the food and milk was a lovely surprise. The board games were a fun find. The location is great to feel like you’re away from bustle but close enough to get to places in a short drive. Host was lovely.

The only blanket we could find was itchy (sensitive to wool) but of course duvets were soft so nothing huge. The internet was slower than I am used to but this was expected so not a massive issue. Other than that it was all brilliant!

Location handy for travelling round central Scotland

Wi fi poor and seating not awfully comfy for our age group . We like to go a walk before breakfast but would have to have driven somewhere as so close to busy road

Lovely memories

We really enjoyed our time at ballat smithy. Anne made us feel very welcome. The nature is so beautiful. We had a great time driving around the high and low lands visiting places we wanted to see. We were lucky enjoy enough to have wonderful weather during our trip. The accommodation had everything we needed.

Direkt an der Landstraße gelegen. Außenbereich daher nicht nutzbar. Kein Ausblick. Kein Garten. Freisitz veraltet. Insgesamt etwas abgelegen.
