Very authentic, amazing view, the host is very welcoming and helpful, very calm, relaxing. Easy access with the car, parking on sight without problem. Breakfast was served precisely on time as agreed. The food was delicious and coming from local products.
Nothing really comes to my mind. Just a small tip: count with paying in cash as cards are not accepted.

I must apologise in advance for the long read, but I’m simply overflowing with enthusiasm after our wonderful stay at Vila Merak 🙂
We arrived at Vila Merak on Friday evening by car and were warmly welcomed by Elvis, the friendly and attentive host. He made sure we settled in comfortably.
Dinner was a real treat - fragrant soup with fresh lavash, delicious stuffed cabbage rolls with homemade cheese and vegetables, all served in beautiful, vintage-style metal dishes right in our villa. Breakfast was just as delightful, featuring homemade pastries. We even bought a kilo of fresh cow’s cheese to take home - it was that good!
Our room was cosy and spacious, decorated in a charming rustic style, with a double bed, two singles, a kitchen with a dining table, and a bathroom with a shower. The kitchen had everything we needed: a small stove, microwave, and fridge.
We especially loved the veranda attached to our room, complete with a dining table, a comfy lounge area, and a heated jacuzzi with a wine glass holder - just perfect for relaxing!
The terrace offered breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding mountains - a sight even seasoned Montenegro travellers would appreciate. 😎 The large, well-kept grounds in front of the villa featured a barbecue, neat wooden tables and chairs, and a small playground for children. On hot days, you can cool off in the inflatable pool or lounge under a parasol.
Vila Merak is just a hundred metres from the P9 road, which runs from Plavsko jezero along Gusinje towards Albania, but it’s wonderfully peaceful - the occasional car barely disturbs the tranquillity.
What really stood out to us was the perfect blend of peace, stunning scenery, and comfort! We’re already dreaming of coming back in autumn to spend more unforgettable days in this cosy haven surrounded by beautiful nature.

We stayed in the big apartment with private jacuzzi and it was amazing! The apartment is old, but it's clean and has all the needed facilities. The view from the guarden is awesome. Elvis is a very friendly host and a good chef, he made us very nice breakfast and diner with local ingredients! We asked for vegetarian diners and we got great food! We would definitely recommend this place if you want to visit Prokletije National Park. Relaxing in the private jacuzzi after a challenging hike was amazing ;)
The only small downside is that the bathroom only has a bath and no shower, but showering while sitting down wasn't too bad for 2 days ;).

Vila Merak is a really nice place, very quiet and peacefully. Although outside was really hot weather inside the apartment because of its great isolation the temperature was pleasant and we were even wearing our hoodies. There is a nice garden, and I enjoyed seeing little goats and chickens.
There was nothing I did not like. I believe it is a really nice place, 1km away from the village center therefore very quite and private.

Really enjoyed staying here! Would definitely stay here again.
Big room, great host, authentic breakfast. Breakfast was brought to our terrace and we really enjoyed having our meal with the view of the mountains. We also had a dinner, which was prepared by the host. 10 out of 10!

First off, the host was wonderful! He was so welcoming and hospitable. The house itself was great, too. It was charming and unique, and plenty spacious for six people. The wifi was fast and reliable, which was great for my wife and I who are remote workers.
There wasn't a shower in the bathroom, just a sit in tub with a shower hose. It worked out well enough, but did get the bathroom a little wet after each use.

Our 2-day stay at Vila Merak was absolutely perfect. The host, Elvis, goes far beyond to what is expected of your usual host. He called the bus company we wanted to travel with to check the departure, he went to pick us up in sudden heavy rain when we went to the city centre. Such a good man.
We ordered dinner twice and each time we had a different local specialty made by Elvis himself using self-grown ingredients. We were thinking, such a shame this guy doesn't have a restaurant, but later he told us, he is actually building a restaurant, which should be ready in 2024, so I can only imagine the visit next year will be worth twice as much. You can really tell he enjoys cooking and is absolutely brilliant at it.
From our whole stay in Montenegro, this was definitely the best place we stayed at. Thank you once more for your hospitality.

The Villa is in beautiful place and has everything you need. All three bedrooms are big size and comfortable beds. we stayed for 2 nights and on our first night we had traditional dinner (optinal with extra charge) prepared by the villa, which was lovely. The breakast which was included in booking price was also decent.
The house only has one bathroom with bathtub. There was no bathroom curtains so you have to shower carefully as not to overflow the water outside bathtub.

Breakfast and evening meals were all made from local produce, different every meal and more than sufficient for any appetite. A real treat to eat local cuisine. Elvis, the host and chef, is very helpful and makes you feel at home. Good location and easy to find. A great base for numerous hikes in spectacular mountains of Prokletije National Park.
It would have been helpful to have some bottled water provided as the tap water is not suitable for drinking. Local supermarket is a five minute drive away.

Vila Merak was the perfect place to stay while hiking in the area. Elvis could not have been more helpful. He washed our clothes for us and made two delicious and different breakfasts and a lunch and dinner. The meals were all very authentic and it was nice to try some of the local food. I would highly recommend staying here and having Elvis cook for you! Best value of our trip.
We left our backpack here - but of course that is not there fault!!!

Make sure you order dinner from the hosts- they prepare a home cooked 3-course meal and it was great food and a great value! They were very friendly and offered us juice and coffee multiple times throughout our time there as well. It was truly a great stay and we would highly recommend!

Wonderful stay. Elvis welcomed us himself and served a delicious and filling dinner cooked by his family (arranged in advance). The place is spacious, clean and cosy and has all the necessary amenities. It's easy to find the house and it's a great spot if you're planning to visit 2 valleys nearby.
The water pressure is, I would call it, unstable but it wasn't a problem for us.
When you wake up in the morning and see the mountains opening up behind the clouds, see the animals nearby and have a Balkan breakfast, it feels a bit surreal.
P. S. Try the apple juice :)

Beautiful house, lovely views and atmosphere. Incredibly attentive host, he went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed every second of our stay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND having dinner at the house every night, really wonderful food at a great price; you will not find better food in town. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended a day :)
Overall one of the best accommodations I have ever experienced, I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
